Every single person here carrying as much weight as I am had to get heavier coils. Now im going to have to buy heavier coils, take these off the truck, take them into a shop, get charged, and put them on the truck again. Or maybe you guys can do it seeing how this all could have been avoided from the beginning. image0 (7).jpg Screen Shot 2021-06-12 at 6.49.42 PM.jpg Screen Shot 2021-06-12 at 6.54.27 PM.jpg

The reason the numbers don't match is because these shocks fit both the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma, but since the 3rd gen is lifted 1" from the factory, you can only get a max of 2" lift vs 3" on the 2nd gen. So the numbers are different depend on which gen you're referring to.

If you look at the same sku but change the model year to 2014, they spec 0-3" so technically they're not wrong but should clarify this in their site.

3rd gen Tacos aren’t really lifted 1” over 2nd gen, the shock length is the same it’s just a higher spring rate.

OP, you have the wrong shocks. Period. I have owned both Fox and King with 600lb coils, they only require about 7 threads to achieve 24-25” hub to fender.

I run a 700 lbs spring, got skids, bumper, winch. Glad I stepped up to the 700 lbs spring. Only 5 threads showing on my Kings.

Are 5 threads normal or are you cranking it to get lift??

Question. What size tires are you using? 1.5” lift? You can’t use anything tires over stock if that’s all the lift you have right? This thread is remarkably confusing. So many people chiming in with 1/10 answers. This forum is more than 10 years old I believe. I would think that you guys would have all this down to a science at this stage. But it’s not. It’s not even close. I just spent over $5000 for high end Fox 2.5 both front and back and everything is all f’ed up on my truck now. I have 285’s R17 that are 33” and when all I had was a 3 inch leveling kit everything worked fine. Of course I had some rubbing in the beginning but because of the advice I got here I had a cab mount chop done and all my rubbing disappeared. Then I had to get cocky and spend a shit ton of money on this Fox system and now I have catastrophe. And I personally don’t know who to believe anymore. The vendor is confused. 4 Wheel Parts that did the installation is confused. I’m just grateful they don’t build freaking jet planes like this because they would be falling out of the sky left and right. Most of the time you spend big money to avoid problems. It seems to be the exact opposite with this hobby.

    Sorry. Rant over.

Yes, but only by 1", you need 700 lbs springs, especially if your going to run a Winch. Good luck with your truck.

I have a quick question here Shane. Why in the earth should any customer who’s paying big dollars to experts to have a job done right then have to go do research themselves to find out how to do it right?
