Yeah, I recall that with our previous loan.
Since refinancing with the credit union about 10 years ago it's been the same. Crazy amount of interest saved going to a 15 year.
Like 70 grand? With lower rate too.

That would be nice but got to work. I haven’t been riding at URE in 20+ years.

Short term investment vs long term. Some companies will offer a bank more money than your loan is currently worth to take it over since they can make money long term in interest.

I was lucky I borrowed the money from myself it was not that much only around $60,000.00

CD`s as collateral on deposit at the bank which they paid interest to me and charged 1% interest for processing and paper work.

I could not handle a loan for $200,000.00 or more like some people.

Years ago (in the dark pre-internet days) I worked with a fellow who had purchased a 1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda brand new in his youth. As usual he got married, had kids and the car had to go. He talked about the car often, good times, finding it, etc.

Night shift in the break room he picked up a random car magazine and suddenly sits up straight -- "hey, this is just like my car -- the one I'm always telling you about!" Like an excited kid this late 50's guy is all over this article -- then he comes to the cars value, even 30 odd years ago it was over $50,000, he almost fell off the chair.
