Sounds like my kind of place. I much prefer small town with no crazy growth. The out of control development is a large part of why I'm considering leaving orlando.

Welcome. Austin growth has been insane, moved here from Oregon for job 30 years ago. Still love it, but just need to downsize one of these days.

This is how my day has started. At least I found it! Too close to the edge. :(

Whats the wheeling like around the area? I prefer rocks and hate mud.

A little something every chance we get.
Pretty much no wheeling East of I35. Bastrop has red mud. Hidden Falls Adventure Park is closest rock place, there's Wolf's Caves which is more serious. Off road is county gravel, because virtually all of TX is privately owned (and they shoot).

Guess I'd have to drive west then to go play off road.

How about mountain biking and or hiking and camping?

Good number of State Parks in driving distance. Overlandlanding groups aplenty. Someone that does that stuff will have to chime in.

    Eww overlanding is lame. lol
I'm more of the beat not babied mindset when it comes to wheeling.

I just plugged one this morning - but it was an inch in. I needed new shoes anyway so this was just motivation to stop putting it off.

How new was the tire? Can you get a warranty replacement?

so, today I went to the cedar falls toyota. I like it, way better than autonation. Autonation did the oil change, but forgot to reset the light, Cedar park took care of it and while I was waiting for the truck I saw that they has the RAV4 Prime XLE in Supersonic Red. I like it. not enough to trade my truck, but enough to dream about a green tacoma + red Rav4 in the garage.
they told me they sold it later in the day

Actually there's a new place just west of Bee Cave TX...still technically west but about 45 mins closer than Hidden Falls. Can't recall the name of the place but it's a off road coarse where they teach folks to off road...I think

Checkout Spider Mountain just west of ATX as well for mountain biking. Plus there's tons of trails in and around Austin.
