Agreed I would personally not post pictures.

I will talk about what happened without disclosing any names or places, but thats about far as I would go.

Good stuff just dont let the a-holes get you down man!

Also are you sure about that for medics? 12-15 I thought they made more?

    I know it varies though.

    thats brutal.
i got to see cardiac massage back in october on an ejected passenger we flew to the hospital. we see some rough patients flying but at the same time for me curiosity takes over and not having any medical training i find it fascinating to watch the medical personal work.

from the title, thought this was a thread about someone whining about there visit to an ER, but alas, I am pleasantly surprised what it is about, hey OP, got anymore. I have lots of stories about my job, the people you deal with, etc. Everyone has a personality, that's for sure. Keep the stories coming!:)

As a pharm tech compound and iv specialist I don't get to see this stuff but every once in a while there is a surge in the er with a full house of pt's and sometimes we have to run meds to the er so I get to have a peek. I wish I was more involved with er thats why I'm thinking about taking another path in the medical field.

Craziest thing I seen was a man that was attacked with an axe. His forearm was barely attached and he had huge cuts on the left side of his body.

As for hipaa, I'd be very very careful about posting pictures. Entertaining us is is not worth the possibility of losing your job.

    Cool thread idea though!

The wording "His chief complaint was multiple GSW." is too much

    Doc: So Josh what's wrong.
Me. Oh nothing much just have multiple GSW
    Doc: Ok anything else
Me: I am also addicted to Tacomaworld.
Doc: Oh that sounds serious we better check that first.

    Very cool otherwise

i have been an ER nurse for 6 years and i have not ever and would never, EVER, take a picture of any patient, procedure, even equipment at work. Cameras, Phones, Videos are abslutly forbidden at work. You could get seriously F***ed if someone said anything. Without permission from the patients, family, hospital its a BAD idea. We had some girl that was being filmed for an MTV show come in with a busted ankle once and we had to have police stand by and keep an eye on the crew of the show, when someone ended up taking video on a cell phone it was confiscated. They had to come back weeks later with permission to reenact everything for the show. Years ago there was a famous figure skater who was involved in a DUI accident and info was released and there was a lot of firings and lawsuits.

    negative... no laws are broken

Thanks man, I love my job.
I wouldn't want peoples panties to get too much more in a bunch, so Im not sure if Ill post more, even with not breaking hippa laws or any confidentiality.

if you can show me where you can identify the patient.... please do.

    CHEERS!

people, if you just chilled out and enjoyed the pictures and education and passion for emergency medicine; you would realize that I am not breaking any laws, confidentiality is not broken, the pictures are from the internet of the same things I see (not my actual patient), and names or specifics are not said, even less than what you would here on the news. I merely did this to show my passion for emergency medicine and to endulge others of the same field or interests of the field.

    wow.......
