Don't you need extended travel shocks to lift by 1.5" or more? I've been looking at lifting the rear as well and am trying to figure out which shocks to get.

Icon seems to be the only one with stock for the add a leafs. Headstrong for example won't have stock for 2-3 months.

Nah, long travel not needed in the rear for just the 1.5" AAL. Might be something else you're thinking of? I'll be using eibach struts and shocks throughout...they actually are a bit longer than stock but not because it's necessary for the 1.5" AAL as far as I know?

    Mostly stock for now...
Maybe it would look different in person - I can't help but think Toyota designers should stay away from collagen injections to the front clip...

    From my experience so far;
    A stock length shock on a 2" lift (i have 2
Fox 2.0s on 2" OME dakar leaves) will mean that the shock is what will limit the travel. You'll have more room to play with but it appears to still be functionally fine.

To utilize the full articulation you can get from a leaf lift , then an extended travel shock is better

I think once you change the front bumper and bigger tires, it will change people's minds.

With the shock limiting the travel is it not really hard on the shock?

I agree with you......The more you look at it it kind of grows on you and I think it’s nicer than the front end on the regular Tundras. This package is for the guys who don’t want to do their own modifications And there probably is a market for that.

When originally posted in this thread in the red colour I did not like it but the white is much better but I am partial to white!

The shock can take it. Not an issue until you add significantly more unsprung weight (one-ton axle, 40" tires on beadlocks, etc.), at which point you add limit straps.

Many setups rely on the shocks to limit droop travel, for example OME Dakar leaf pack + OME shocks.

I usually don’t like most brand new trucks but after you see at least one done up kinda nice and how they could (should) be is when they start growing on me.
Too bad i absolutely hate electronics in new vehicles

    +1 I'd rather have a lever vs a button.

Yes I have FJ transfer case swap envy.

Better avoid the J300 Land Cruiser when you go overseas then - there's a fingerprint reader in the door handle, so the truck can adjust the power seat and power tilt steering wheel for you.

BJ Baldwin's trophy truck will probably get a body shell like this next year... on the same Chevy-powered frame.

Not so much the lever vs button that annoys me its the all the driver assist nonsense and constant dinging at you for anything other than an actual problem or seatbelt. Mini beeps at me when it gets below +3° and gets me right fired up. Or my dads truck will beep at you for reverse sensor warning when you have a trailer hooked up but the truck tells you when a trailer has been unhooked.. Like come on you know its there, shut up :frusty::censored:

i run GM bumpstops off of a '99 to '07 Silverado.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fox-2-0-deavers-1-5-aal-and-gm-bump-stops.289215/

@tacoma16 and i run them. stupid simple to replace and every store from Crappy Tire to Part source to the GM dealership - can get you a set of these if they ever do blow out on you.
    IMG_20210605_155800558.jpg
there are 4 or 5 washers that are being used as a shim, could simple not add those in if you need it closer.
