If my dumbass would have been thinking, I’d would have broken out the Bastion instead of Jotunn. Didn’t think about it until I got destroyed with one in one of my Comp matches.

    Yeah.
Getting back in to Destiny, working my light level up. Got through 2 rounds of Iron Banner last night and the game crashed, said it couldn't read game data and must be reinstalled. So, had to download the whole thing again (which is still janky getting the right version for the PS5). That was before I found that you could move the game to extended storage and then back to fix the problem. Apparently I am not alone with this issue.

No... you're not alone. I had this happen to me update before last. Got a "Beaver" error and from that point on the only solution is to delete and reinstall the game. Once you have it reinstalled you can make a copy of it and put it on an external SSD drive. That way if it happens again, you can delete the game and move the copy from the external SSD. I read on their forums and reddit that this is the best solution. Better solution would be to not have it happen at all. But so far it's only done it once to me. What I noticed when this happened was when one of the updates to D2 came out I installed it before the game came back online from maintenance. I noticed that when I downloaded the update that it was a blank box (where the game usually shows up showing what you are downloading the update for). I played for a couple hours and went to orbit and got booted with the "Beaver" error. Tried to relaunch the game and got the same notification you did. Did a complete reinstall and "so far so good".

@TenBeers Sorry. We started our matches before I saw your text last night. You had gotten off before I sent you an invite. We could have used your meat shield last night. We either steamrolled or got steamrolled. There was no inbetween. Full stacks the entire night.

I was waiting on Grasty in the tower and I asked him "why does this guys name look familiar?. Checked the clan roster and said... "well shit... he's in the clan". Didn't dawn on me that you changed your GT.

    Yeah.
LOL, no worries. I was not playing very well, which means horrible. Freelance was kind of the same way -- either demolishing or demolished. Only a couple of rounds were good, close matches, and those were when both teams were coordinating well. Joining the season late puts me at a bit of a disadvantage, everyone is over 1300 and I am sitting at 1280. Still had some decent runs, but just not in the zone, so went to bed.

I've really gotten to the point that I don't like 6's anymore. The only time I play 6's is to get my 3 games in each week for the rewards or when IB is around. I turned in over 1000 tokens and only got one Riiswalker Shotgun and one Machine Gun out of all of those tokens. The Shotgun dropped with Eye of the Storm and Iron Reach which isn't a bad roll since it will reach out and touch people with Iron Reach and Eye of the Storm procs because you are close to someone most likely taking damage. But only getting one to drop after turning in over 1000 tokens? That is shitty RNG.

I've gotten to the point that I don't play Rumble anymore mainly because I hate when someone "yonkes" a kill from me and I know they hate it when I "yonk" a kill from them.

I've just gotten to the point that I really enjoy 3v3 because you can use tactics on how you want to approach a certain team. So about the only thing we (I) play is Survival, Elimination, and Trials. Plus it's easier to get 3 people that want to play than 6. Did get some really good Super shutdowns last night with the sniper. Grasty was standing next to me and I popped a Titan at point blank range when he popped Hammers and said "nope". We both died laughing. He had us dead to rights.

He sent me this after the match. I figured he would be pissed but he was cool

This is the week to play Trials. The Sniper is dropping at 3 wins and I got lucky on my first run and got one with Snapshot Sights and Moving Target. Good roll... The Messenger Pulse is dropping at 5 wins so you have a chance of getting the God Roll of Outlaw / Desperado (already got that roll on the Adept version), the Arms are dropping at 7 wins, and the Adept Igneous Hammer is dropping at the Lighthouse.

Going to run my WL through tomorrow and see if I can pick up another Sniper and another good roll on the Igneous Hammer.

    @TenBeers

My game crashed again yesterday like yours did the other night. I don't know how or if you even can replicate it but I had just got done with my last Gambit match and went to orbit. As soon as I did, it locked up and gave the message that I have to reinstall the game. "Well fuck....". That's exactly what it did to me the first time. As soon as I went to orbit after doing some activity it locked up on me. This is the second time that it's done it and it only happens with D2. Every other game runs fine so it's not a Playstation issue. It's a Bungie issue. It only happens on the PS5 version of the game.

There are three things you can do to fix this until they come out with a patch:

1: Reinstall the game. Least desirable but it works.

2: Play the PS4 version of the game since it doesn't have this issue. Also very undesirable.

3: Transfer the game to an external SSD drive and transfer it back. Not ideal but I can confirm that it works. I plugged in my Samsung External SSD into the USB C port and it took about 5 mins to transfer the game. Then I transferred the game back to the console memory (which only took about 3 mins). Restarted the console and booted up D2. Runs fine with no issues. So there is a corrupted file in one of the last patches of D2 for PS5 that makes it lock up. But this does work and takes less than 10 mins with a fast External SSD. Much better than deleting the game and reinstalling the game.

This is the drive that I used. It will have to be formatted to the PS5 so make sure you don't have anything on the drive that you need or at least transfer the items you need off of it before you do the transfer since you will lose everything. Luckily I've got a bunch of SSD drives laying around.

I should also note that it's not a bad idea to have a fast External SSD laying around that you can dedicate to the PS5 alone. In reality you only have 667.2 GB's worth of storage on the PS5 right now. But during one of the console updates they give you the option of transferring games to an external drive to free up the on board storage on the console. You can transfer a game that you aren't playing but don't want to get rid of to the external drive then transfer it back to on board storage when you do want to play it rather than re-downloading the game again. Until manufacturers start making larger internal storage sticks for the PS5 (and let's face it... that could be quite a while in this climate), this is the next best option.

This is the one that I'm using. Samsung T5 SSD

    Yeah.
My issue happened very similarly, going to orbit and crashed. Had more issues yesterday where I couldn't turn in any bounties or decode engrams, but just shut it off and came back later and it was fine (coulda been my internet, coulda been Bungie).

I have that same Samsung T5 drive (only 1TB though) hooked up to the PS5 that I use for PS4 games to conserve space. Not sure if Sony fixed it yet, but the console seems to boot so fast (from a full power off) that the Samsung SSD drive is not quite ready when it checks it, and it tells you it has an issue. If you go to rest mode and back, the drive is fine.

Thanks for validating that fix, that's a lot faster than re-downloading it.

Turning in bounties and doing certain things in the game sometimes happens. You'll notice that the round cursor will have a spinning portion in the middle like it's trying to "think". I've had that issue and I'm not completely sure it's an internet issue. Sometimes the game is buggy and for whatever reason it will happen every once in a while (though rarely).

As far as the external SSD drive goes. I would not leave it plugged into the PS5 all the time. Only plug it in when you actually need to transfer a game then unplug it. I found out that you have to go into options and disconnect the drive manually (much like disconnecting a drive from your computer). Otherwise the PS5 will give you the pissy message that you must disconnect the drive and not just unplug it before going through that step. I transfered a couple games that I'm not playing currently to free up storage on the on board memory.

The only reason I bought the 2TB drive is because my files are so big with RAW video and photos that I need as much space as possible. Luckily I have quite a few external drives so I dedicated one to the PS5.

I hope they come out with a patch to address this issue as the Bungie forums are lit up over this issue. So it's not just you and I that are dealing with it. I'm just happy that I found a fix that works and works fast. The first time I deleted and redownloaded the game and that is a pretty time consuming process. This option is much faster since it takes less than 10 mins to fix. It's not ideal but better than any of the other options.

I didn't even know this was a thing? Apparently there is a Triumph for completing the Corrupted Expunge mission without dying. This was the third time running it for the pinnacles and the possibility of selective perks on the weapons.

Bunker E-15 is the Legendary Lost Sector today. It's dropping boots for each character. If you have a Hunter this is the perfect time to go after the Star Eater Scales. One of the best PvE Exotics in the game.

I took my WL in to get the Boots Of The Assembler. Took me 5 runs to get them to drop which is the most runs I've made in a Legendary Lost Sector. Usually they drop on the 1-3rd run. Doesn't really matter since the run only takes 8 mins. You gain a life for each Champion you kill. Barrier and Overload Champions. The Overload Champions are dicks.

Just tried it.. 1322 light... Nope!

Nothing like soloing endgame content to show you really how good you are.

It's 1310 so at 1322 you should be able to solo it. I'm at 1339 and shit still hits hard. But if you take your time, once you learn how and where everything spawns then you can easily breeze through it. It took me 5 runs to finally get the boots to drop. By then, I had figured out everything I needed to know about where and when the adds spawn and how to take them down. The Overload Champions are the hardest part. They are assholes lol. My first attempt didn't go as well as the last attempt. I only had one revive left before I cleared it. But even in the last attempt I still got killed twice because I wasn't paying attention.

Now that I soloed the Corrupted Expunge mission without even knowing there was a Triumph associated with it, I've started trying to solo everything now. There are Triumphs for almost everything so it gives me something to do and is a challenge. One of my friends in the clan soloed The Prophecy Dungeon and he said it took him about 9 hrs to figure out how to do it. Not sure that I have that much patience. Another friend soloed the Presage mission and he has a lot more patience than I do. He got killed at the very end on one run with the boss having a sliver of health left. I'd of thrown my Playstation out the window lol. But, he got it done. I might try it but I'll probably get frustrated at the trash compactor.

Oh... Yeah, it changed today. Yesterday was 1310. Today it's 1340 and the boots are still dropping. But even I wouldn't try the 1340. I understand now. Don't feel bad. 1340 in that one would be a nightmare lol.

If I would have been thinking last night when I ran it, I would have taken Riskrunner in there since everything is dealing Arc damage and then used the Deathbringer for the Void shielded Minotaurs. But the Anarchy worked just fine. Getting ready to solo the Corrupted Expunge mission right now on my WL. Might be a little bit tougher since I can't go invis with the WL.

Yeah, those guys are dicks. Even in the 1310 Lost Sectors they suck. I can't imagine what they are like in the 1340.
