Maybe not that specific model but ones that looked like that. Ram Dealer Val Vista and L202. They are displayed right when getting on freeway.

    They have 1 TRX

Probably Ram Rebels, they look pretty cool too. Unfortunately, the TRX is silver. Yuck. :puke:

I agree, I honestly wish Toyota would go back to the T100 size

Lets just hope this new Tundra at least matches the Titan's payload and towing...

1st Gen Tundra is honestly the perfect sized truck. I wish I had gotten one of those over a 2nd gen Tacoma

I've got a T100 and driven my boss's 3rd gen tacoma plenty. The T100 has a more spacious and comfortable interior, and the T100 has four feet between wheel wells on the bed. And if I remember correctly, the T100 has better payload capacity.

Modern trucks have such thick dashes and body panels that it's impossible to have a small vehicles and still fit comfortably inside of it. It's like they didn't change at all how they make vehicles, and just piled more stuff in there. At some point vehicle designs need to be modernized. The 200 series land cruisers are perhaps the worst offenders for implementing modern features with outdated approaches.

Honestly these trucks have not grown as much as everyone thinks they have. Here are the double cab dimensions:

    1st gen: L: 202.9 in. W: 70.3 in.
    2nd gen: L: 208.1 in. W: 74.6 in.
    3rd gen: L: 212.3 in W: 75.2 in

So over all 3 Tacoma generations, the length of these trucks has grown by less than a foot, and the width by less than 6 inches.

I think the height of the hood and bulkiness of the dash makes it feel large when you are driving it.

Logic and fact have no status here at TW, where opinions are fact and logic is not needed. This is sorta an Alice in Wonderland place to be...

Modern crash standards are a driving factor for a lot of this though. Door bars, rollover protection, pedestrian hood height requirements, etc. To get a larger interior you need the outside dimensions larger, sadly.

Exactly. The outside dimensions of a 2G/3G is larger than a T100.

My 93 Xtracab was significantly smaller than a full size in its era, but my Tacoma is closer dimensionally to a 93 Full Size than my 93 Xtracab.

Size is what it is unfortunately.

Since we are talking about the T100 here is the breakdown.

    T100: L: 209 in. W 75 in.

So the 3rd gen Tacoma and T100 are within 3 inches of each other, basically the exact same.

I open up interior panels on Toyotas a lot in my job. The door bars in modern Land Cruisers and 4Runners don't look any different than in my T100, and there aren't any extra layers or reinforcement I see on one and not the other. They just have the inside and outside panels further apart, to accomodate larger speakers and fancier door locks and electronics by the looks of it. Maybe it's a bit better since it can crunch further without hitting the passenger, but I don't think that's a big factor.

The dashes are insane in the layout of the stuff and how much space is wasted between them. There is no reason for them to be as bulky as they are other than continuing to have random electronic modules everywhere instead of in one spot.

If they simply used a serial bus for all noncritical electronics, the wiring would be cheaper and the dash would be thinner, and debugging would be easier. As it sits they're just an awful mess of 90s electronics stacked up until they have all of the desired features.
