Now I'm thinking of foregoing the alternator if it's that much trouble.

I have taken the pulley off another alternator like this and the pulley fell right off after loosening the nut. So i think its just the luck of the draw.. mine was seized on good so i opted to pull it out so i could add more heat to it but i would definitely try to get it off with the alt in place first

I think i just got an unlucky one that was corroded on. Mine had some rust on the stepped portion and i think that was what had mine stuck. I would definitely give it a go, yours might fall right off

Sure thing, i think thats a shot in the dark as well.. mine was a TRD Sport with tow package and i had the stepped version. From what ive read its nearly impossible to tell though until you take it off

I did mine in place. Impact took the nut off, and the pulley just kinda fell into my hand.

With you being from Cali, "at least according to your bio" I would not worry about it being a PIA. That will be an issue where people see high levels of corrosion.
I held my pulley using a rag and the hit it with an impact. Easy peasy

Thank god my resonance is gone!!!!! Is was god awful and straight up embarrassing to drive. Someone in here stated that once you go catless, I’d need a minimum of 1-2 resonators and a muffler. I added 2 vibrants. Now it’s a whole new truck again. It is also extremely quite.

Oh god don't remind me. I had the same issue with my 2.8 URD pulley as well before I ever even ran the blower.

It sounds like any other vehicle shutting off. Imagine that. Hahaha.

Geez man, that thing looks like a giant cannister of NOS.

Looks similar to what I had at one point. It was quiet at first, but it seemed like it got louder after I put some miles on it.

Picking these up. I want a pillar gauge pod or something that connects to the handle bar bolts. Can anyone point me in the right direction

I think the one most people use for there is the Lotek.

    http://www.gaugepods.com/toyota.html

It says 05-09. Several guys have said that it fit good enough on the newer years but you have to fiddle with it to get it to sit right. I ordered one but ended up selling it because I didn't like the fit on my 2014.

Only reason it “doesn’t” fit newer years is because of the airbags. It still fits like garbage on any model.
