Darn that comment reminded me of Thuds sitting on the ramp, loaded with to the gills waiting for enough lift to get off the runway.

Don’t know what your times are, etc but…..don’t overlook NetJets. Just started my 21st year there back in March. We are actively starting to hire, they say 300 by year end. Way short of pilots. The one downside is you would be looking at close to 10 year upgrade, may be less may be more.
Having said that: 7 on/ 7 off schedule, free health benefits(no premiums) for entire family, believe it’s 58% match on 401k(if over 50 and you put in max of 26k, company puts in 13k), the newest addition is flight duty pay( first 10 hours you fly each trip is a freebie, anything over that is $150/hr…1/3 goes straight to 401k). Believe the new hiring mins are 1500tt, 250me to start

That actually sounds really good. I have to get all of my fixed wing certs. But I am over the tt. I am looking into fly Corp in Savannah for their transition program before I get out. Thanks for the information. This sounds like a great option after retiring from the service. I may contact you again when I am getting closer. Currently 1 year out from officially being a free man. So hopefully the jobs are plentiful at that time.

Time for my BFR. I’m going to Alabama to get a seaplane rating in an amphib husky. Hopefully find a relatively low cost amphib 2 seater in the future if all goes well.

Who was out of Brunswick, ME doing loops & rolls near Phippsburg today? Second time I've heard/watched the plane. Didn't have my phone on me at the time so didn't get a tail #.

Its housed at Eisenhower National here in Wichita, surprisingly. They were using its hangar for a function. There is a twin, however, as it's one of two flyers remaining.

My dad's mom was working at Doaks aircraft in Long Beach, Ca in 1942. She died of a heart attack on the construction floor. My mother's father had returned to the navy after a medical discharge and died in 1942 at the San Francisco Naval Yard. Also of a heart attack. The only two family deaths during WW II.
