Holy shit is that totally lame an absolute Barbara Streisand. I hope you pay $10,000 for an air conditioning system and someone comes and installs it. Within a week you figure out it’s not working and then the installation company comes back and tells you you should’ve done your research on how to install air conditioning systems. Id pay $5000 to be standing there looking at your face after he told you that.

You've got enough posts on this thread, which you hijacked btw, bitching about how the someone on the Tacomaworld forum should throw together a comprehensive guide to aftermarket Tacoma suspensions including the complicated nuances brought on by UCA's, wheels, tires, shocks, springs, alignment, etc.

You're acting like an entitled shit bird. If you've got a problem with a shop that installed your suspension - take it up with them. Blast them on this forum if they're part of it. Don't hijack someone's thread. Don't attack people who try to offer help.

You're just out here attacking everyone that comments. If you're so certain that something is amiss - you should be able to prove it. Once you've done that - come back and let us know who messed up and how. Until then, I think we all wish you'd cry to someone who cares.

Also, who compares vehicle suspension to air conditioning? lol

My opinion is that you should go back to blocks - they are more your speed.

Probably been covered plenty in the last couple pages but a lift doesn't fit bigger tires. I have stock suspension and don't rub with my 255/85/16s (33s) on or off road.

Yeah I stopped after your first sentence. I forgot Tacoma world is mostly to discuss fishing reports and post pictures of our dogs. I’ll remember that. I won’t bother to read the rest of your post.

It’s funny but when I was first investigating putting different tires on I was going to put the exact ones you have on my truck. However there were tons of people here that said that wouldn’t work because you could never balance them and 33 inch tires on the 16 inch wheel was a nightmare. So I never considered it. Now you tell me it works great.

Well unless you are somewhat of an expert on what you were getting quoted at the end of the day the only thing you had to go buy is your gut instinct and that’s how most human beings make buying decisions anyway. People buy from people they like. Having said that it would still suck pretty good to have someone do a job and have it not work but then afterwords letting you know that it’s your problem. Or even worse have them be a smart ass and tell say you should read up on it. Lol.

I recently replaced the AC in my house and before I asked for quotes, I asked people whose opinion I trusted to recommend people to perform the work, then I had a few come out to give me quotes. I went with the company that seemed to understand what I was trying to do rather than the cheapest. It’s important to have an idea of what you are actually trying to do before throwing money at a problem. Just like you wouldn’t buy a window unit to cool a 3,000sqft multi story house or a commercial unit to cool a studio apartment, you should figure what sort of suspension upgrades will accomplish the need of how you plan to use your truck. If the spacer lift was working for you why did you switch?

You should be aware that many of the posters here only have experience with a stock setup and what they currently have, very few can speak to the differences between suspension types. Also, confirmation bias is a very real thing, people love to be proved that what they did was the best choice, this is why there are so many fan boys on the internet. I personally have had 5 different setups, but it’s hard to even compare them because my truck was configured different every time I swapped. I found a stock sport way more comfortable to drive around town than a set that was tuned to my truck, but that tuned set will soak up a G-out in the desert at 40mph that would destroy a stock setup.

With your specific issue, it seems you feel victim to a salesman more worried about their commission than your needs. You got the "best" suspension available when driving down a rutted out road in the swamp doesn't call for that type of setup. Also if you looked at the Manufacturer's catalog you would see that you ordered a setup that is rated for 0-2" of lift for your application, it's unfortunate you purchased through a vendor that didn't care to spilt their product listing and provide accurate information for the 3rd Gen. This is what most people mean when they say you need to do a bit of research, not that you need a PhD in Tacoma suspension, but that you should understand what's available and what style makes the most sense for how you plan to use your truck.

I have never once read anything like that on Tacoma World. Mounting 33" and larger tires on 16" wheels is one of the most common modifications on this website.

I guess I don’t feel like a victim. Having read lots and lots on this forum and talked to many different shops I’ve just come to the conclusion that most people really don’t know what they are talking about. They are convinced that they do know I’m sure of that but the end result is never perfect. The people I bought the system for or a pretty huge vendor and they are in constant communication with me attempting to make this right. I guess I don’t know what else to say. I took a video of the truck setup and I was going to post it here but I guess from what you were telling me pretty much in trouble at this point so there is know point. I have no problem with people making commission by the way. So long as they are looking for long-term customers not a one shot kill. If it’s a one time deal they can be unethical. I did see on Fox‘s website that it was 2” but it was explained to me that means 3” on the third generation Tacoma. Looks like I have been mislead. oh well. I’ll let you know if I get this sorted out. Please know I appreciate your comments and your response. Air conditioning is my field and if you had any questions about that PM me. I’ve been doing it for 35 years. Thanks man

I’ve seen quite a few rigs with the same shock fox 2.5 extended travel with more lift than mine. Mine are set to the highest amount of preload I can get them at without going into coilbind with my 14” 650 springs. Not sure how some people are getting more lift unless they just don’t wheel the trucks so they never bottom out the shock. I would love to be another 3/4” taller in the front which would just about level my rig. I’m about 1.5” up front over stock and 2 1/2” in rear.

Well I’m going to need 3” above stock. I will either achieve that with a spacer or a coil spring. I was hoping to get some advice here about that and I even took a detailed video of the truck. Although I’ve been accused of hijacking this thread and I guess that’s true. I PM’ed the OP and he said he didn’t mind.
