funny: Benny’s spaceship from the 1st lego movie is one of the sets I refused to pack away. It’s still on top of the bookshelf.

 

That stinks. I hope you get yours sooner rather than later. To me, a couple of weeks to get it is unacceptable. It should be a priority for them.

I haven’t come across missing pieces in an official set. I did have one wrong piece in. Brickmania Spitfire- they got it to me in a couple of days.

As for pieces jumping off the table, a while ago I got myself an extra large baking sheet to help corral pieces. The lip is perfect and since I got two kittens last year, it’s become priceless to me.

I’m hoping LEGO won’t impose a time limit on replacement parts- I’ve been stockpiling sets for my super deluxe display cabinet that’s still in the planning stages.

I’ve found LEGO to be extremely poor to resolve issues. Took 3 tries to get a Mickey mini fog keychain delivere that wasn’t damaged over a month or so span.

You can get replacements through Lego's Bricks and Pieces service. Not sure what the lead time would be right now, but I've never had issues with getting replacements. Over the years I've had missing our broken parts from a handful of sets (2011 V-Wing Starfighter, USC Millennium Falcon, and Barracuda Bay come to mind). I can't imagine that Technic link is in high demand from the parts retail side, so you shouldn't have any issues.

Not a bad idea. I use ikea flatware trays, which also allows for each bag to stay separated while building.

Lego's set inventory catalog on Bricks and Pieces goes back quite a few years, so I think as long as the specific piece in question is still in production then you should be fine. If not, there's always Bricklink or Brick Owl.

 

I had my first ever missing piece myself on the 911 RSR. Thankfully I was able to finish the build, and I can add it on if I decide to order it. It was the piece that spans both sides of the front bumper.

 

I picked up a treehouse recently and just finished building it. I have no idea where it's going to go but I really liked how detailed this set it!

 

My next purchase because its off road. It has the first lego mini fig female race driver. Since Shelby Hall is the only female on the BroncoR team it must be her. Cooler that she’s a friend of mine.

 

Rumor is the next big technic vehicle will be the F-150 Raptor.
