    not enough.
Yeah. a light dusting of snow down south and everyone freaks out and the world stops down there. But then again, first snowfall here in northern utah and everyone forgets how to drive.

I mean, people usually don't get pulled over for random things like that. Usually speeding first and the stuff like tints and wheels and stuffs.

Hey locals... I've got a question for people that live in Utah. Have any of you had any trouble with your frame... like the guys back in the rust belt apparently do? Anything at all?
Does everybody lose the frames under their vehicles in the rust belt, or is it just a Toyota thing?
I can't believe anyone would live in a place where they buy a truck for significant dollars and they have to have major surgery as a standard practice to make them last.

And my 02’s frame was mint 3 years ago when I brought it from southern Utah but has started to get some rust on the extremities.

But, I kinda chase the snow storms so it doesn’t help

Its a something to keep an eye on for sure, but coming from the proper rust belt back east it isn't a guaranteed death sentence like driving around Boston is for example.

If so, what are you using to clean it?

I have the AFE that they used to make for TRD. I use a K&N kit to clean & re-oil.

Thanks for the info. It seems lots people are using K&N. I ordered the AFE cleaning kit. Hopefully, it arrives before Christmas. I believe Auto Zone has the K&N kit, so i might have to go that route.

Any interest in cleaning mine :)?

I need to figure out where my kit went when I moved. Been using it forever, since I had a 14” K&N air cleaner sitting on a 350 small block.

Its super easy to do … spray with the degreaser, hose it off, Netflix & chill while it dries, then spray with the oil.

Glad I’m not the only one to clean the filter every three or four years.

I’m not sure why I went with a cleanable filter. Waiting for it to dry seems so ridiculous.

I’ve never been a fan of the oiled filters. I never oiled my K&n in my old taco, just rinse it out and scrub then let it dry.

I just run the Oe style throwaway filters in the runner, easier than having to pull and clean, wait to dry, then reinstall.

Yeah, Toyota engineered the motors to use with paper filters for a reason. They're effective, cheap, and easy to replace.

I deal with the periodic clean & oil since my blower likes the extra air from the cone filter.
