Ugh, good to know. When I initially ordered them, it was because I could get them in sooner than other respective brands....here I am, 3x over the reported lead time, likely looking at a sketchy knock off.

Thanks for the info and update! I'll reach out to Riley and see what he says. Bummer because he seems like a decent dude and is reportedly trying to get the equipment to do everything in house.

Anyone know the driveshaft situation for a spring under install on an access cab? Or long bed. I believe it needs to be shortened. If so can any reputable driveline place do this? Its a 4x so i have a slip yoke not sure if im missing anything else

Mine was shortened and a slip yoke added because 2wd. But I had Inland Empire Driveline do mine. They did the shortening added slip yoke all new ujoints and I gave them a OEM carrier bearing to put on for 400 bucks and finished it in 4 hours. Should be pics in my build thread.
This is how much to long it was. Plus no slip yoke in this pic.

Yeah, I thought he was a standup guy by our conversations. It’s a bummer because the old shocks they were producing seem to be of good quality. There are quite a few tacos and tundras running their old coilovers. No response from him today. I’m going to question how the coilovers come from them when he does. Not down for anymore surprises.

Same, I sent him quite a long email. To his credit, he says,

"Carbon and I developed shocks together. Yes we are competition but we work together to help each other out. There’s plenty of business for everyone. I used to be build my products over seas and this year made a push to build in America using American steel, American aluminum, machines in America and paying American workers. You’ll have a better quality shock and I support my products 100%."

So, we'll see. I've been needing front shocks for like, 3 years now (long story) so at this point, any shocks are better than the clapped out Icons I'm rocking right now.

Sooo went to replace the delrin bushings in my LCA's and its been a nightmare... getting them out and in, and the sleeve is stupid hard to press in and shaving some of the bushings out. Is that normal? The sleeves appear to be square (on one end at least).

I'm over this, who wants to buy a LT first gen! lol

Did you greased them last time?

put some bushing lube in there and antizeis on the bolt

sleeves might be tight, dont know if that is good because the sleeve is what rotates inside isnt?

Well that’s good to hear that he’s wanting to back the new product that he’s pushing out. And honestly, if the coilovers work and fit, it might be beneficial to run them since anything would be better than those Icons, I agree.

Im still waiting on a response on a resolution for these smooth body shocks though. I was going for the angle of cost savings since I’m SOA. But at this point, I’ve already got bypasses in the back, I might as well reconfigure the rear to get proper use out of them. I live 15 mins from DMZ, Tim’s done magic with 14” shocks under the bed before so maybe he can work some magic after I save up chunk.

Greased the inside where the sleeve goes, but may need to swap them out for smaller sleevel. That may be the reason why they were so squeaky before.

I’d be the first to think there would be no difference. However I’m on archive towers right now and for the long bed, Eric supplies a 1” spacer to bolt through the bed. I was surprised when we did the install but it appeared the long bed has a little more space above the frame.

So I know my shocks could be mounted higher. Has anyone fitted your towers to a long bed yet? I’m curious on the fitment.

I have the long bed with the archive towers. Because the archive towers mount flush against the wheel well on a short bed, right in the lower section where you can put a wood board across. On a long bed, this isn’t there. Instead of making two kits, he makes one and uses a filler block to help brace the kit on the long bed. I wish I looked at this more as I would of pushed my mounts higher when we did them.

Edit.. if I had to guess. The JD mount would have to be cut in somewhere around here. Should be about 13 inches from the cab wall of the bed.

quick crude mark up from my phone
