I checked with driveaway and they came in about $1600 under CarMax. Have an appointment for Wed to let her go. Will be posting some aftermarket "stuff" for sale in the next week or so.

PS, not looking to replace it. We're both retired and I hardly drive it.........4k miles in 2 years of ownership and over half of that was in one long trip. So more like 2k locally in 2 years.

There are people posting vehicles for sale for more than you can buy the next model year for new at the dealer. The market is a bit sideways now.

You should check them all ;)

Driveway came in the highest for my truck by a bit, a couple of YouTube videos do comparisons and show it depends on the vehicle, different companies look for different age/mileage and price range

I think I got an email giving me contact info, and they may have called.

Nice thing for you is they have 4 dealerships in ID

Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls

While I'm going with Carvana's quote (I'll post an update on that tomorrow), driveaway has sent me a couple of e-mails and a text. No call, but plenty of other communications.

This! Well for my state (NY) got $500 more than Carvana was offering and got another $2,300 back from the tax savings trading it in vs selling.

Just started the process with driveway also, called and no answer, but rep ended up contacting me within an hour and scheduled an appointment for inspection/pick up in 2 weeks.

So i put my info into carmax and driveway again with some more mileage. My carmax offer went down almost $2k, but my driveay offer went up by $800. So strange. Lets see if driveway contacts me this time.

Edit. Carvana offer went down almost $2k as well.

I think you may need to call their number once again. I don’t think they reach out unless you make a phone inquiry.

When I set up the appt to take my Tacoma in to the nearest dealer, they were 235 miles away, since all the other places said the offer was only good for 250 miles or 1 week, I made sure that Driveway was taking that into consideration so there were no surprises, they said as lond as I did not exceed 10K miles I was good to go, LOL

    According to Black Book,
used car prices rose 0.75% last week, the lowest weekly gain in 17 weeks. Trucks and SUV prices grew 0.68%, the lowest weekly gain in 15 weeks. In other words, they are seeing leveling off trend wrt wholesale pricing.

So here is my experience with Carvana. Offered me $30,264 for my '17 AC TRD 2wd with 38,400 miles, which is about 8k more than when I checked about 6 months ago and 6k more than I paid for it 2 years ago. So I set up the appointment for 3:00 on June 16. When no one showed by 4, I started reaching out to them. Everything is automated and no one called me back. About 8;30 the doorbell rings and a guy asks "Did carvana every come do the paperwork?" I gave him a terse no. Then he asked if they had set up another time and I just gave him my best "are you stupid" look. He must have understood because he wished me a nice day and quickly walked away.

I figured someone had come to their senses and realized they couldn't make any money on this deal. But I go to the web site and the final step (make an appointment) had reappeared, so I made a new appointment for 12:30 June 21. This time someone showed up with the check and the transaction was super easy and done within 30 minutes. They didn't actually pickup the truck until the next day, but I had that check in the bank an hour after I had it in hand. As an aside, the rep told me someone had been fired on the 16th and while she didn't know the reason, we speculated that it was my rep who didn't show up and never called me.

So I'm trying to sell some accessories on the Florida board, but this will be Adios to all of you. It's been fun and informative. Be safe everyone.

Sooner or later people run out of paycheck. I'd hate to be the guy that just had to have it and paid out the ass for a car or a house in this market.
