Despite very high heat and many many road hazards. We had 10” of rain and tornado conditions overnight Friday into Saturday, and today there were still flooded areas and downed trees and power lines. Made for some interesting moments. In keeping with recent thread developments…I rode with a commercial jet mechanic.

My buddy still has his '06 YFZ he bought new, needs to get it running again. The 450 sport quads are a lot of fun

Haha nah not quite, that was split over two days. I don’t think I could iron butt on the F800GS, too many vibrations from the parallel twin and not enough seat real estate

There is a guy starting in this year's Iron Butt Rally on a 2019 KTM 300 XCW-TPI. Should be interesting to see how the 2-stroke holds up for 11 days of high miles like that.

Wanted to pop in and say thanks to @uurx and the rest of you guys who helped give me input. Picked up this beauty on Saturday. Met the guy near his house, took a test ride (where I almost dropped it because a stray dog ran out in front of me on a turn), then had him follow me home because I didn't want my first street ride to be an uninsured 40 minute ride on the freeway. Getting insurance taken care of now and already submitted the title transfer info to the DMV.

Gotta say, this thing is nice. Very easy to ease on the throttle when you're getting going, but plenty of torque if you need it.

Looks good! Next time don’t ride it home until you have insurance. Not worth the risk of something happening.

Think you misread, I had the guy follow me home. Only rode it on the test drive, and it's been sitting in the garage while i handle the insurance. So i'll probably be taking it out for a spin tonight after I pay the premium later today haha

Anyone finding any good moto-related prime day deals?

I bought an inflater/digital gauge combo for $20 so far...

Grom would not be eligible, not enough hp. While there have likely been some Iron Butt rides done on one the actual Iron Butt Rally has different rules and regulations.
