    My shit is all stock.
Are we sure that this isn’t a CMC issue? That seems more likely than those shavings working their way up to the reservoir from the HRB.

I thought the clutch master cylinder was all plastic parts, could these shavings come from there ?

I have had this issue in the past where the clutch fluid gets off color and I find what looks like clutch dust in the reservoir. This is way more noticeable after I’ve ridden the clutch hard thru wheeling, etc.. I’ve already drained and replaced the clutch fluid 3 times now with this clutch master crap, I know I have a slow leak somewhere.

Regardless, I’ve been waiting on the CM bearing to take a crap on me so I can get rid of it- this looks like a good enough excuse..

Is this a 6M issue? I’m closing in on 100k miles with no chirp yet. The pedal itself squeaks in wet weather though so I need to lube that.

Yes this is a 6MT issue only. The 5 speed is a peach

Damn that sucks. I always thought a 6M would be sweet. 1st is too tall for my liking on the 5M.

With the presence of those shavings, If’n it were me, I’d replace the master. May as well go to the Fj master and pedal while you’re there.

Is the OEM master for the FJ aluminum verses something plastic for the Taco?

The Tacoma has used an aluminum master for years now and the clutch pedal TSB also replaces the plastic master with an aluminum unit.

Does anyone know if an FJ RA61 will work in a tacoma that came with a RA60? I have a 2006 Tacoma with a trans that will not go into first or reverse. I looked up new transmission assemblies from Toyota and the FJ trans RA61 is much less expensive, $2k vs. $3k. THANKS!

What are you running now? Any reason why you aren’t still running it?

I do. The ratios are nicer and the trans shifts smoother.

    Hang on.

    Clarify whether you’re needing a RA60F (4x4) or a 2WD RA60.

If you’re V6 4x4, then Russ had exactly what you need.

I have a V6 4x4. Russ has a RA61F mated to a FJ transfer case. To clarify would a RA61F mate to a Tacoma transfer case? Output shaft/splines the same on RA60F and RA61F?

The RA61F and the RA60F have the same output splines. So yes you can mount the stock Tacoma t-case to the RA61F.
