Anyone try their luck on any aftermarket windshield wipers? I was going to switch to Bosch Icons as my OEM ones have used up their life....But now I'm seeing that they don't sit completely flat on the glass after searching through the forum.

    Suggestions?

I'm mounting it in an antique toolbox overtop my sub. Getting hardwired to a new fuse panel for my second battery in the "rear storage area" (I have no back seats). Also mounted a 4 gallon tank in the bed to make it a complete onboard system. All 3/8 ntp

I've been getting the Michelin ones from Costco for the last decade. They're cheap and the first ones were the best and lasted 3 years until I sold the car. Since they they went back to a jointed design. Get the same at least 3 years from them but wiping quality could be better (seems wiper and wiper consistency is a thing, Costco returns if your picky to try another). On the Tacoma windshield they have been doing pretty good for the last 1.5 years.

Ah thanks man, might take a look at these tomorrow. I was there last week but that isle was crowded to hell and then I forgot!

My OEM's are at the 3 year mark so sounds about right.

My Bosch Icons get good coverage :notsure: Be sure to get a 20B with the extra curvature.

90 amps going through your cab!

Get a check valve between the compressor and the tank, so the compressor isn't sealing against tank pressure long-term (because chineseium).

Toyota’s blade inserts are about $10 each if I remember correctly if you want to keep the wipers stock, just need to swap the rubber portion.

    Very jealous lol

my 09 had the option of turning the seatbelt buzzer off via trip button&key sequence but unfortunately my 14 does not have that option.

ive thought about selling mine and getting something older but meh its already paid off and almost the way i want it, might as well keep beating on it

You can do it either via tech stream or carista app to disable the chime. That’s what I did on mine for when I have to constantly get out on the trails.

Really tech stream can do that? Guess I better use that feature.

Here is an old fashion way of doing it while out on the trails… We do this at work all the time.

That doesn't help with the door open ding on third gen. Like, I know the door is open because it's open - I don't need endless dinging.

Yea. Ran the gussets with the spc uppers. Don’t believe I ran a different castle nut. I am running total chaos spindle gussets.

Only picture I have at the moment. @Atlas86 has a pic of the castle nut as he has my old lowers. Sent this a while back. B1ED1562-E9C0-4D41-B3F3-1F1C38392287.jpg

Appears to be the standard size?

2:30 is the highlights for the Tacoma

@Norilsk so either solid axle, or unimog portal axles...

yeah that seems to be the only hit i get when searching for portals, it's a fairly interesting choice to lift the truck. probably a lot more common in the Slavic countries due to the widespread use of the unimog as a more known staple than it is over here.
