I'd be surprised if you really do feel much of a difference. On a stock engine, I can only imagine the "OMG such power" are "paid shills"... $GME joke... OK I'm out.

I wasn't expecting much. Maybe a different exhaust note? I only have URD Y pipe, catback, and i did new spark plugs at the same time

I didn't notice a change in exhaust tone. I thought it was a small but noticeable difference in low end response. Otherwise, The only thing I couldn't really determine if it was related, but for some reason I noticed, is the truck gives a little extra "kick" when it's turned off now. Not sure how to describe it. Just feels like the motor dumps harder before it stops running.

Anyone get code P0012 after installing? I’m a couple months after my install. But this code for the bank one cam being too retarded has popped up and cleared itself 2 out of the last 3 weeks.

Engine runs fine, and I don’t suspect an actual problem but was curious if anyone else has gotten it? Quick google tells me that there’s an oil filtration-plug-thing that may need to be cleaned because it is related to the VVTI but I’ve not done much research.

Check your sensor's connections. When unclipping the passenger side OCV, I cracked it and the truck immediately threw a P0010 code. That was a costly mistake.

I'd start by cleaning or replacing these screens as well as confirming you didn't hurt the oil control solenoid and it's connector on that bank.

No issues here with thousands of miles on these cam gears. Thats probably like stated a OCV filter or the OCV itself.

I’ve run though 1.5 tanks of fuel now. Before the gears I was typically getting 15.5mpg. I gassed up on my way home from camping yesterday and got 16.8 on my first full tank with the gears. This was a mix of city, highway, forest roads, and gravel loaded with camping gear.

I’m hoping this is a sign of things to come because 1.3mpg is way more improvement than I hoped for. To be clear I did also clean my throttle body but not my MAF since I couldn’t find cleaner.

Is there a DIY for installing the cam gears? Pretty sure I can do this myself if I look at a DIY and see what is involved.

Hey Gio, Thanks for the advice on the towel. I still cant find MAF cleaner. (IG: great_white_taco)

Im trying to calculate MPG the old school way. Before I got ~200 miles to a tank in mix city/highway. Ive gotten as good as 220 on only highway. 200 divided by 17 gallons = 11.7 mpg. I guess range is 11.7-12.9. So if I get +1 or 2 id be happy.
As of today, Im at 65 miles on 1/4 tank. That is good on my book. But still need to drive through a few more tanks. Another thing is, truck isnt my DD anymore, so kinda hard for me to get an accurate reading. I always try to warm up the engine before driving, so that helps.

Im also going to get emissions tested the first week of July. Its done by OBD2 and I have no codes according to my scangauge, so I think I should be fine in that dept.

I have a long trip scheduled for Aug 9th, so hopefully I can get some better numbers then. (6k miles total)

Are you accounting for the fact you're on 35s with those MPG calculations? With bigger tires you are actually traveling more miles than indicated by the odometer (larger distance travelled per tire rotation) so simply dividing gallons by odometer miles won't yield accurate values.

That is true. I forgot about that. I thought my tires were something like 14% difference..

So much math and other things happening today..

14% is close to 30-34 miles if my memory serves me right.
