Also, for those of you who are considering purchasing anything through Shock Surplus: DONT! They're a nightmare to deal with and their customer service is garbage on it's best day. Their ratings are horrible for a reason and I wish I would have checked it before I ordered from them. I have now wasted at least 3 hours of my time on emails, robo-chats and other forms of nothing-communication. They don't list their phone number on their website but it's (213)433-3616. I had to search for that and it was still a waste of time. Just go through Accutune as their customer service speaks for itself.

I ended up deciding to go with closer to a 2” lift and I called a few places and they backed up what I’d read. Most said it was unnecessary under that 2.5” threshold.

 

Cheap bumpstop upgrade if anyone is on the fence. Bumps and cans from Accutune are around $500 and after a little cutting you get a huge upgrade.

 

So I don't have the same issues you have, but I do I have issues w them too. I've emailed support 3x now and used their support form online to ask for assistance. I just located their phone number today. I have not gotten one response from them. Really disappointing when their site and auto responses tout a 24 hr response and hassle free exchanges and returns.

 

So far I have spoken to two people on the phone, sent in pictures at their request three times, and been promised that they would resolve my issue within 24 hours of at least twice. The last person I spoke to was on Tuesday and ow they're not returning my emails any more.

 

Disappointing for sure. Have you thought about trying to make a claim via Route, the shipping insurance you paid? You can also do a complaint with your credit card company. My issue was I wanted to exchange the rear 2.0s from 116 to 117s which I never got a resolution to. At this point I just installed them. If it's on a cosmetic issue, I'd move forward to run'em. The 2.0s ride soooo nice.

 

I'm just going to install them and when they need to be rebuilt, I'll rebuild them. I made a claim with Route and it was immediately denied. The cosmetic damage is not a big deal, the scuffs aren't through the powdercoat. My main concern is the oil on the cap. At this point it's not worth the hassle of dealing with them any more. Fingers crossed nothing weird comes up while installing them.

 

I just received my 2.0 fronts in the mail and both springs have some pretty apparent scrapes on the springs. We’re yours just marked up, or we’re they legit scraped up?

 

That's exactly why I didn't pay for that Route service. I think that oil on the top hat is just lub from the manufacturer. Mine was a little wet too.

 

Posted this in the 3rd gen main forum but got crickets.

Pulled the trigger on some rear components and wanted feedback about shock travel. Bed has a snugtop on it and I always keep a box of tools/junk along with a 7 gal aquatainer in it, so it probably adds up to about 300lbs total over stock.

I've got a set of Icon RXTs on order, and I'm pairing them with some adjustable reservoir fox shocks part #985-26-118. For reference these are the numbers:

Extended Length 24.800"
Compressed Length 15.200"
Travel 9.600"

Would option 2 or 3 be best for these shocks? Will I have any concerns about bottoming out/hitting the droop limit? If anyone has this combo or similar let me know how they ride!

Leaf pack has everything to do with weight. Stage one is good for 0-200lb of weight, stage 2 is good for 200-400lb of added weight. Those shocks should be fine, rated at 2-3" lift, however you may want to run at least a .5" spacer with a stock bump stop

 

Do you mean a bump stop spacer or a lift block?

 

Bump stop spacer. The compressed length of those shocks are about .5" longer than 0-1.5" length shock. It will probably be fine, just something to consider.

 

After doing some more research option 3 might be the best bet. With a 2" spacer block in the rear I'm at 23" passenger and 22.75" driver hub-to-fender. This would equate to 21"/20.75" if it was stock. I like the amount of lift the spacer provides and want to keep it similar

I'm sitting lower in the back than the front by about 3/4" so I'd need to overcome that as well to even it out. Meaning from "stock" I'd look to get 2.75" from the leafs. According to the picture, Icon's option 3 gives 2.625" unloaded and 1.125" with a 600 pound load, with a linear spread we're looking at 1.5" per 600lbs. Then with a 300lb constant bed load (camper shell + tools), we could halve the droop to 3/4", netting out 1.125 + .75 = 1.875" inches. This seems low, am I missing something or am I just bad at math?

Edit: then again, the stock leafs are sagging pretty poorly. This would likely be affecting the measurements I took.

 

I guess technically, I have been part of the Fox life, since I have a TRD Pro.

But........

I'm upgrading my suspension after a little over two years of ownership. The parts have been trickling in. The only items I need now are the rear shocks and u-bolt flip kit. Then I will get to the install.

Realistically what would these rear shocks be worth. About 3 months old with accutune trail tune. Never seen snow or cold weather. 2.0s for 1.5-3 lift. I've got 14s and relocations coming so these are coming off.

 

They’re worthless. Should just give them up in the pay it forward thread.

A couple months ago I sold 60k mile 2.0’s with adjusters for $350 to a local member. They needed a rebuild cause they were leaking. I would guess $5-600?
