I have a 2021 TRD Sport and noticed that it takes longer for the radio phone Bluetooth etc to respond after pushing the button than it did in my 18 Sport. Has anyone else noticed this?

    Thanks

No idea, I suppose it’s partially in our heads too. We live in such a fast paced world, I think we just feel like we push a button and it goes. But not so with these new fangled radios. I find myself pushing the button multiple times cause I forget that it’s slow. Maybe Toyota designed it that way to have a more relaxed feedback but to the OCD people of the world it’s irritating. I guess we’ll just have to learn how to deal with it. Maybe Toyota will take a hint and do an update for the radio that can be done at the dealer level and everyone can get it fixed.

It was automatic on my 18.. no hesitation like this shit on the 21.. I feel what you’re saying about patience.. but it seems like they went cheaper on this head? Don’t you think?

This is driving me crazy as well. Just from the simple change from main screen to radio takes forever in my opinion. To the point I 2nd guess myself if I even press the button. :( So far that has been my biggest gripe.

I did notice that when I had the Wifi hotspot feature enabled (during the free trial period) the radio was a lot slower to respond, especially when the truck was first started and the radio was booting. It's not super fast after disabling the Wifi hotspot thing but seems plenty reasonable to me apart from when the radio is just starting up.

If you're not using that feature, or possibly the CarPlay or Android Auto features, you might try making sure it's all disabled on the radio -- less stuff running/trying to run can't hurt.
