I just saw an ad for an E-body convertible for $49,999 and offering "up to 144 month financing". I'm all for a terrible financial decision here and there (I plan on making one of my own next year), but 144 months for a car is terrifying.

I know a lot of people with tons of negative equity in their vehicles because they only look at the payment. This truck is 0%, I did decently well on the purchase price, put a bit down and had good equity in the last truck. Even with all of that, I put together a spreadsheet with estimated value based on mileage/age and with making regular payments I still would have owed more than it was worth for a while through the loan. I pay enough extra so I should always be a bit ahead of trade value.

Although with values how they are now, I could have been making the minimum payments and still been well ahead.

Well soo much for a clean title, got rear ended. Not too bad by the looks of things. Some scratches bottom of the tailgate, broken trailer plug and mount, broken cap over the bolt on the bumper near the ball mount

I don't miss working in the field for that reason. I was living in NH when most of our work was within the 128 belt of MA, so wakeup time was usually 3:45am. Then meet at the park and ride at 4:45 for a early ride to MA and be on the job for 5:45. But yes, the advantage was getting out early. Our crew usually only took one, very short lunch break at 10am, then we'd leave at 1:45. That's .

Sounds like you didn't have your hitch in at the time? Probably best result but still sucks.

Hitch is there, didn't have anything in it but it's there. I haven't gotten underneath so far it looks straight

I've been wanting to get lightly rear ended for years now (that doesn't sound good!). I've always wanted to get a high clearance bumper.

I was waiting for the same on my FJ. I did get rear ended at low speed (guy slid on snow into me), but really the hitch ball just destroyed his bumper and his hood pushed the rear door spare tire mount a little. Rear bumper was untouched. Lame.

You know what I say, anything worth doing is worth overdoing! In keeping with that, I got a gentle nudge in the rear of the truck and ended up with a whole new truck!

They doing your frame? if not, I'd aim for a little bit more than a light tap!

My old mazda 3 - I had a receiver on it for a bike rack. Dude in a jetta rear ended me because he was putting on/taking off his boots after a snow storm (it was the day after it snowed overnight). I felt it, for sure. Dude's front end was smashed to bits, I'm sure some of the foam underneath took a hit but other than a damaged license plate light, I was good to go! Traded it in a year later anyway so I didn't care.

    Or care

Except it started rusting in 2016..haha

Yup, same thing or they overbuy. Laugh as people will at my 2WD, 5 lug, power nothing truck I got a truck with under 7K miles and got as decent as I could for my trade in (didn't want to trade but I didn't need the risk of selling that POS private) for $200/60 at 0.9 interest.

I was in no huge rush to pay mine off for those reasons, but we didn't do as well rate wise on the Rav4 (though we got the best one possible) so we just power pay on that.

Now what about the ass beating you dispensed to the bellend who hit you?

I don't think there's a single ding on my bumper, I really think I lucked out. Hoping the tailgate will just be buffed out

Lol poor girl. Looking at report she was 22. Had scrubs so i think she was a UMass nursing student. She was apologetic. Clearly at fault. Her parents came and they were polite as well. She went through 2 red lights before that. Her outback was rough lol. New hood, grill, bumper, not sure what else lol. I think my lift was the perfect height to reduce the impact

Alright y’all, I need some input from everyone.

I got new-to-me sliders and they have minor surface rust. Should I take em apart, grind it down and paint them back up, or just say screw it and put em on.

Second, I got a 4’ firestik I ended up mounting onto a CaliRaisedLED bed accessory mount. Ended up taking a highway trip, and the mount ended up bending out a bit. Any ideas on how to prevent that, besides removing it entirely? The only think I can think of is to get a 102” whip antenna with a clip to hold on down when I plan on going on highway trips. Thoughts?

Sliders... I'd clean them up. I did for the ones on the Nissan. And will for whatever I find for the Tacoma.

Antenna mount... did 5k+ with a Rago mount, and no issues...
I also have my firestick one quick release mount.... for anywhere low clearance...

And speaking of clearance... increasing the clearance under the TRD in the near future(when all parts arrive, all ordered today). Not much... but, the couple road trips it was used for.... too much bumps too contact....

Just need a set if Sliders, and a little more skidplate
