I have mine set up so I can adjust on the fly(bottled HP air or compressor) but almost always fill when stopped. But if I fill while driving I can see the effect of every road bump on the pressure so while the static pressure might be only 30 psi when you hit a bump it can go to 50-60 psi momentarily. If the max static pressure is 100psi then it’s likely the bags can handle a good deal more than that.

Good to know. I guess I'm overly paranoid after my bicycle tire explosion when I was a kid.

Hoping this may be a good thread to ask -- I came across a new, unopened package of firestone ride rites at a local trailer dealer for $205. I had wondered why they were so cheap and realized after getting home they were manufactured 3/21/2018 for 2019 sales...from what I can tell the rubber would be the only concern -- 1) does anyone have a sense of the lifespan of these? I see on firestone they are not precise but approx 5 yrs and I see general airbag systems 10 yr max 2) any experience with any rubber degrade/issues w/ age 3) any concerns you'd have with putting these on a vehicle? I'm guessing even though these appear great I may lose some life but hoping they will still do the job for 5yrs at least before needing any replacing. thx!

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
That's a good price and I'd jump on it if all the parts are there. They've been in a box and not subject to hot/cold cycles and road salt.

I installed the Firestone Bags on my Duramax back in 2001 when it was new, thousands and thousands of miles at 80 psi and a heavy cab over camper on the truck over span of 20 years and they still look and operate as good as new.

They're out of sunlight underneath, they get flexed routinely to keep the rubber in good shape...degradation really isn't an issue like you'd see with tires....these bags are tough.

Hi guys, where is the cheapest place to order the bags and can someone confirm the exact model number, I believe it’s 2407 but just want to make sure? A link would be fantastic!

Here is the cheapest I could find them. Put them in 2 weeks ago and love them. I looked at sourcing everything separate, but it pretty much equaled the price of the kit. This will fit a 3rd Gen.

With a thicker spring pack you will need to get an extension for the bracket that rest on the axle. Otherwise it will bend the bracket. The extension just bolts to the bracket.

My bags are mounted to the bump-stop pads, bottoms are a flat plate on top of the springs with a daystar cradle. I still have my entire firestone mounting bracket kit in a box on the shelf.

    You can:

Just make sure Amazon sellers are considered “Dealers” by Firestone. When I bought my airbags, Firestone told me that I had to purchase from an official dealer for the warranty to be honored. At that time, Amazon was not in the list. Who knows if support told me the right thing. I ended up buying mine from a local dealer who was in the list.

Anyone tried to get Firestone to honor a warranty?
