That's how I restore a lot of old tools but I can take them all apart. That's the only thing with that knife being riveted together

The vinegar is so weird past a certain point and it'll start acid etching and giving the metal a neat patina but it also cleans rust and gets metals close to their original finish. I should have paid more attention in chemistry

I've COLD blued some freedom senders but I'd only do it to stuff that's not worth a lot. Expensive stuff I'd send to a good smith and have them blue the nasty chemical hot way.

These new super steels and stainless steels I'm not sure will blue well. Now the high carbon 1095 camp knives would probably look pretty cool and work well. Not sure how well the cold blue process would work on a big ol' 12" blade but something small probably work well.

Cranked out a few sets of Mule scales made out of stabilized Patagonia Rosewood. I gotta say, this is some freaking hard material. Took too much material off on one set and fubared my machine causing it to lose its coordinate system. Then broke a ball mill halfway through another set.

Thanks for all the tips. I’ll try to do a clean myself and see how it turns out. Go from there. :fistbump:

:rofl:this was in Big Bear camping a couple of days ago. The chef did not disappoint. We need to have a TW knives club cookout though for real.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
That’s the only bumper sticker I got. I drive for meat!

Working on my first knife design. This one is named Nebulous. My Goal is to have a prototype built by the end of the year.

    This just dropped.

I support people and companies being very patriotic, though at first it seamed too in your face. Then I realized it's a laser etched blade....bet it's sweet! It would be nice if they make scales in every states flag!

I'm tempted by the local flair and spy27 but I decided to hold off as the pm2 is not my favorite despite being what many others seem to love.

Try using Ballistol and some “elbow grease”. Amazing stuff.5A43DFAB-E038-4901-A17D-6340F2B547D0.jpg
This garden tool was a rusty mess. It’s much improved after I rubbed it down with Ballistol and emery cloth.
