Hahhahaha Almost skipped it because. Color.

The mint grips supposedly match the minty Specialized highlights they were on the Diety bars.

The blue pedal was a choice of either red, yellow and I think white that the shop had for "free". They do the job for now.

    not enough.
Okay. so speaking of 1up racks...

For those of you who put 4 bikes on it, have you noticed that the rack likes to move up and down a lot more? ESPECIALLY on a dirt road? I haven't had any issues with bike damage because the whole rack+bikes move as one unit together. BUT, it is disconcerting watching that 4th bike move up and down so much. I THINK the solution is to somehow tighten up that bar at the base somehow but I'm not sure how to accomplish this. Using that threaded locking gold bar thingy only does so much to tighten that whole system up. Is there a better way? What is the way?

With only 2 bikes on and no extra trays, the rack is rock solid. but with 4 and all loaded up, it's a bit of a roller coaster. hah!

edit: i should note that i do have that hitch tightening thing all tightend up. it's not the base that's moving. That part is solid and never a problem. it's the trays and the system that allows the trays to go into different positions that is a bit too loose and that's causing the movement.

Definitely put heaviest closest to tailgate to lightest farthest out on rack, other than that maybe some sort of strap around top tubes to tailgate for reinforcement. I've never hauled more than 2 bikes so no idea honestly, just thoughts.

Just back from a very fun ride. At some point I will list what is on my SJ EVO S2 29 Carbon Custom. Then let the derision begin :D:p:anonymous:

Love it! I do a little bit of everything and I've had fun with it thus far. Probably even see how it handles a few bike park laps over the course of my summer travels.

    From today's ride:

Yes. It definitely has some vertical play that is exacerbated lots of bikes and it has gotten worse of the years. I don't have a solution, but I don't really worry about it since the rack is still solid and the bikes aren't going anywhere.

With that said, my buddy just got an Alta Rack and my initial impression is that it's better than the 1up. I also like that I can get a six pack and it won't stick out so far.

If you’re carrying 4+ bikes on the regular, definitely a better design than 1up. I think I’d end up using the tailgate pad if that were my situation.

Story (short) I posted in this thread (last year?) about looking for a bike........well I looked and gave up and looked and..........wife kicked me in the ass and said; "...... why don't you call Skagit Cycles, just to see, besides I want a bike too........." They are like 35+ minutes south on I-5, hot day so we jumped in the Taco and took a ride. Got her a nice Giant step through city bike.

I bought a shop made SJ EVO carbon 29" in S2 size with:
    SRAM Eagle 12
CF Synthesis Rims, Butcher front, Purgatory Rear
    Truativ BB/Cranks
    SRAM CODE R brakes
Diety Black label 800 bars and Diety grips
    Diety Premium Race Goods stem
Bike Yoke Revive dropper with Spank seat
Fork Marzocchi (Fox) Bomber Z1 Coil
Rear shock Fox DHX2 Performance Elite

That's all I can remember. It fits me well and rides like a dream.
