I have a 17' Whaler with a 115, It planes out in about 10', I have to make sure everyone is hanging on before I hit it or they get tossed out the back!
I wonder if I could get higher end speed yet keep that quick launch if I went with a higher pitch stainless... :)

I top out at 43mph at 6k rpm right now.

The water is also far lower than it's been in many years too.
It's right where the DNR wants it to be, but we haven't hit that mark on over a decade!

Makes sense. I know a few mech engineers I bounce thoughts off of, I'm a glass blower and the job requires a good amount of what I think of as engineering to bridge the gap between what people want and what's actually feasible to make. Material limitations, etc... no schooling or certifiable training but I admire the way engineers often think about things and I try to use that mind set for solving problems.

Yeah I saw it was down over 3 feet from last year. I can’t remember it being this low in a long long time.

Yeah for the X14. It was OJ’s recommendation since we stubbornly cling to our slalom skis as the primary thing we do instead of boarding or surfing.

    Nice x15!

Not much? Looks damn perfect to me.

Big boats have their place, but small skiffs can go to all kinds of out of the way places.
