I finally traded the boots for a work oxford shoe, I walked so much at the old job the boots just got too darn heavy.:benchpress:

I had a good amount of miles on the last pair. I think after time they just lose the support and cushion to the point new inserts don't help. Fortunately the company pays for a new pair of boots every year. Welder and Electrician dudes get additional $$ for FR clothing.

I kind of split the difference and got a pair of Rockport Elkharts - dressy enough to wear with dress pants but aren't oxfords.

They're listed as snow boots but I have no idea why because they aren't insulated.

It's just a plug for the bottom of a moisture separator/filter. At some point I think someone gorilla'd one, broke the factory plastic plug, so here we are

I wish they would give us an allowance for work shoes/boots. They provide us FR pants, FR long sleeves, and cotton shirts, but no shoes? I always buy the sneaker steel toe and electrical hazard type. I can't wear boots, too much chaffing for me.

Speaking of the FR pants, I swear Cintas is starching them damn things, and they still come wrinkled! It sounds weird but I have to iron them most of the times...

Our cotton shirts are up to us to wash oddly enough. Because yanno fabric softener effects them, find it kinda odd. The button up shirts that Cintas wash, yea they're stiff as Hell. They want us to weld with those on, but I've burned several up... :rofl:They might work for arc flash, but apparently not stick welding.

I don't see where that would have made any difference at all. The Engineers who signed off on it were very new then and my guess is they measured a factory plug and went closest fraction on the chart.
Daye on drawing was from 2006 so I must have done these before. Kind of foggy...

Yeah, the button shirts are rough; I'm sticking with my old soft shirts.

4.5 hours in and got 1 turned, better put phone down and get busy. 10 in 3 hours...planners just throw a number on there:annoyed:
Single pointed threads until a nut would just start then used a die nut so didn't come out loose. Then slightly undercut so the nut would shoulder.
