Haven't come across anyone mounting the chuck in a refreshed 3rd gen grill, so decided to see if it is robust enough. So far so good, but time will tell.

Got my ARB single mounted this past weekend. Took forever to get delivered. Seems to be on backorder everywhere I looked. Current set up is using the bracket it came with mounted to existing mount holes under the hood of my 3rd gen. We'll see how this goes but thinking i'll eventually move it to a bed cubby down the road.

I've never seen this done on here so I figured I'd post the pic. If anyone is interested in how I got it to work.

I have a slow leak in my air system that I have been unable to locate.

Is there any such thing as a Bar's Leak you can use in an air system?

Just windex or soapy water you spray on each joint.
To actually plug the leak you could put Stan’s sealant in through the Schrader valve (pull the core).

I've done the soapy water trick on all the joints and have not been able to find it. It would be great to insert some kind of sealant that would seal the leak from the inside out.

Stan’s is a bike tire sealant that suspends small adhesive particles in a thin fluid. Getting the sealant to go to the leak is easy in a tire(unless the leak is on the rim side but that can be dealt with) since the sealant all goes into the tire. In this case the sealant will mostly go to the air bags so it’s a question of whether enough will find the leak as it goes by to plug it.

I've had good results by removing the bag, installing the Schrader valve directly to the top of the bag, filling the bag/valve with "fix-a-flat", rotating the bag per the instructions (for a tire), and reinstalling. Although, I do like the Stan's product, because, apparently, the fix-a-flat stuff is toxic. o_O

Also, I've had good luck requesting a bag replacement, since most companies have a lifetime replacement warranty.

It's not my airbags that are leaking. It's the whole OBA system. Every time I start up the truck after it has been sitting, the air pressure in the tank has dropped to 100psi (or less) and the compressor kicks on and has to pump it back up to 150psi.

There must be a leak in the lines or one of the joints, but I can't find it.

Keep the sealant away from any pressure switch or gauge, and it might plug the tank drain as well. I switched from ptc to compression fittings w/brass inserts and nylon compression rings. Barb fittings also can be problematic if you don’t use wire ring clamps(band clamps don’t do well at small diameters). Pipe thread should be simple enough but I’ve been finding a lot of nicked threads that make sealing more iffy.

My bad / wrong therad. :D Does it drop below 100psi? System should drain completely if there was a leak. :notsure:

How slow of a leak are we talking? No system is truly airtight and will have some bleed down.

How long is it sitting between starts?

I did too. I find that compression fittings are much more reliable and disassemble without scratching/scuffing the tubing but that said it’s the tapered thread fittings that seem more prone to leaking. In some cases I’ve found FIP threads seriously messed up or not cut deep enough to have sufficient overlap so I picked up a 1/4 npt tap. I have probably more than the usual uses for OBA. I also grabbed a 1/8” and a 3/8” tap. A light touch with a triangular file and get the worst burrs on male threads.

50% bleed down overnight seems a little much. I didn't read all the responses in depth, but I think someone suggested that it might be leaking down through the pump. I'd try throwing a shutoff valve and gauge after the pump output to see if it still bleeds down the same. With the gauge between the valve and the rest of the system, you'll he able to tell at a glance how much the system bled down overnight. If it bleeds down the same then the leak is somewhere else, and you can move the valve/gauge around to try to isolate which component(s) is leaking.
