Why do you use that screen for? Is it even accurate?

While I'm unfamiliar with such wizardry in my poor man's truck I have to wonder if it's mentioned in the owners manual.

I hope it’s not accurate, ‘cause I’m jealous of your fuel economy! Seriously, I’ve never had that problem in 80K miles and I do use that screen. Is there a global date setting in the settings menu?

Which is what will save a lot of folks when they have a 'cloud burst'.

Because we old people implemented the internet and piles of software to run on it means that we might have a touch less trust in a few things. You know, like when airlines shut down for hours because their weather feed goes offline. Instead of just looking out the window. :p

Check your date settings on the HUD. Theoretically it should auto update, but your settings may have changed.

I'm guessing they are referring to the info screen between your gauges.

Must be a redefinition of terms by social media? You know, like folks referring to struts and rims on a Tacoma. ;)

Possibly. Heads up display is really a reference to the projected on windshield info like some of the 80s Pontiacs had and some new vehicles if various manufacturers. Those are a true heads up display because the driver doesn't have look down. All originally coming from fighter jet/aircraft systems in the 60s and on as far as I know

My only guess is that the HU pulls the data from your phone when connected to Entune, similar to the way that it sets the clock. Is your Entune app still there and connected?

Some folks have deleted it as it does generally suck.

    Gasp!

Subscribed as my wife’s Outback does the same sort of silliness on her economy screen.

It should obtain that info without entune. I know mine will without being connected to any phone.

Well, sure. But, my perfect vehicle would cost about eight times as much. I'll take some shortcomings for that kind of savings. Haha!

We are all sitting around here hoping for the Big Simplification, i.e. Android Auto or Car Play. Yet, even the implementation of that has been less than stellar.

It's gonna burn a lot of ears, but with just the tweeter upgrade, I'm pretty happy with the sound. 99% of the time, I drive around with the screen turned off. I like how it flicks on momentarily when I change songs to let me know the title.

My apple phone is connected and works via Blue tooth if that is what you're asking ? The date is correct on the phone.

    :notsure:

It has to get the info from somewhere. Pre-2020s do not have connected services and I have never programmed the time or date manually. The battery and HU have been disconnected a few times along with a few FW updates and, I beleive, two full data wipes on the HU. All done by me.
