That's awesome that you were able to snag some stereos with wireless Car Play. The dash cam idea is a great one. The 2013's have their backup camera integrated in to the rear view mirror (I think this was the only year Toyota did this), so I didn't have to mess with the camera wiring at all. Overall, I'd say it was one of the best "upgrades" I've done to my truck. Already eyeing some new units for the wife's 4Runner, but going to hold out for a unit with wireless Apple Car Play/Android Auto for her. Hopefully the supply issues are resolved in the next 6 months, but at this point who knows.

I replaced my headunit last month. I have new components to go up front but i am waiting until i decide what amp i want to run. If you have time, add some sound deadener to your front doors and it will really wake those stock speakers up!!!! That with the kenwood HU made a huge difference in my sound. You dont have to go crazy with deadener. I did behind the speakers and on the larger areas inside the door skin. NIGHT AND DAY in sound.

Mine is a 2010 and i also have the camera showing in my mirror but I now have it displaying in both the mirror and the kenwood unit.

I'll share my experience since ive owned my 2012 TRD OR since new, this a reliable and tough truck. just make sure any recalls have been done and inspected. i'd be more concerned if it is modified by previous owner(s) than the model year.

Been more time than "today" but my most recent undertaking was putting stainless brakelines throughout and some powerstop disk brakes on the rear. I must say the truck stops so much better, but boy was it a pain in the a.

How hard was it to do? Seems like a great upgrade not having to deal with drum brakes.

I'm curious about that as well. Seems like quite the undertaking getting it to work with the ABS and... hows the parking brake work now? Genuinely curious.

Headlights/fog lights. Straight pipe exhaust? Hopefully more mods to come
Weekend project. The rear is blacked out. Pulled all trim off bumper and upper bed trim repainted black. I Want to do it all in bed liner/rhino liner or whatever. Installed LEDs in reverse lights, 3rd brake light, and license plate lights. Have the spyder auto tail lights installed that match my front but…. Oooops having a little trouble up front at the moment

Looks good! Those taillights are dark!

Once you completely finish the black out you'll find yourself implementing color back in. That's what happening with me now :D

So my goal is to do all black inside and out. With purple details. I have installed purple LEDs on almost everything I can inside the truck. Including the auto light on the window control. And I want to do raptor grill with purple and I have the 2010 4Runner mirrors installed and want to do the marker lights in purple. But I think it would looks stupid. I’m not sure about that. May just stick to amber. But regardless I’m putting LEDs in there too. I may end up pulling apart my new headlights and switching the DRLs from white to purple and just add purple halos. I’m not sure. To many option and it makes my tiny brain hurt
