Pulled the trigger on this PSA pistol over the weekend... https://palmettostatearmory.com/ble...-7-phosphate-9-m-lok-moe-ept-bsl-pistol2.html

I’d been wanting to build an AR pistol for several years and never ended going through with it... Then covid hit and PSA jacked all their kits up $200 over pre-pandemic prices!

Figured $500 for complete pistol is probably going to be the best deal to be had for the foreseeable future!

Ordered a Sig Romeo5 yesterday from here https://osagecountyguns.com/sig-sauer-romeo5-sor52001.html for $115!

Now I just have to find some 556 or 223 that’s not crazy inflated haha!

This is the best deal I’ve found in a while on brass case ammo.

There is probably less paperwork involved with buying a house than getting a CCW card in CA in some places.

Unfortunately, shipping kills the deal for me... But I did see Academy Sports has white box 223 for $12.99. And they are offering 10% military/first responder discounts through July 5. It isn’t valid on online ammo purchases, so you’ll have to find it in store.

It looks like they just weren’t torqued properly, I removed the screws, cleaned them up, applied blue loctite and re-installed, unfortunately we don’t have any marker or anything for me to put on the screws to indicate if they move.

If you are using sights (optic or iron) under 7 yards you're doing it wrong. For center of mass and head shots sights shouldn't be necessary under 25 yards. I only use sights for shots under 25 yards if I'm practicing shots to the tip of the nose or the eyeball.

Yeah…no, I did it wrong about 2005 during OIF. There were hard lessons learned that I got lucky with. Since then, I’ve probably had a couple hundred more inside 25 yards encounters. A lot of which where in small spaces on easy and hard corners.

I can tell you from real life experience it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes, going for a specific shot is the way to go. When your enemy is kinetic in a gunfight, it’s usually agreed that zipping up and zipping down is the better way to not take a bullet back. Hitting vitals alone like a deer’s not always enough. It could take 1 round, or 15. Usually it is desired to be less.

If you’re not switching between instinctive shooting to precise shooting on the fly, you’re doing it wrong. So much so that they have little robot targets now in the kill houses that have sensors to mimics a human being shot, and how many rounds it might take per shot accuracy before it falls on the ground.

I handled a couple of Staccato pistols today

Anyone have any real world trigger time on any of their guns that can say yea or nay to being worth the money?

I picked up three boxes of that from Academy a couple of days ago. Better than most of the deals out there.
Our Cabela’s had almost nothing on the shelves, just a few boxes of the oddball calibers.

I have shot the STI DVC P 9 and if the Staccato is anything like the perfection in that one should be a winner for sure....

My dad came by the shop today looking for a used .243, we sold the one we had about an hour before he showed up so I sold him a used 12 gauge and a browning X-Bolt Speed hells canyon in 6.8 western.
I’m looking at a Nikon Black FX1000 4-16x50SF or a Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x44 FFP to put on top of it for now, I don’t want to go cheap but I don’t want to go too high end.
I’m leaning towards the Nikon because it looks good to my eye and I can get it a decent but cheaper than the Viper.

Thought I’d post this here, and hopefully that’ll be kosher. I’m gauging interest in my Winchester ‘94 30-30 saddle ring Trapper (16”) circa 1981. It’s in great shape and is a great shooter, with a very smooth action. I’ve replaced the original loop with a Ranger Point medium sized loop to more easily accommodate gloves and it will come with the leather butt cuff as seen in the photo. also in the sale will be 7 boxes of Hornady 160gr. Leverevolution and 4 boxes of Federal 170gr. Fusion, along with about another 100 loose rounds of the Hornady, for a total of about 650 rounds of quality 30-30.
With the cuff, the loop, and the ammo I’m asking $1,400 FIRM. If that seems high take a look at Gunbroker, not to mention the current price of 30-30. I’m in no hurry and if it doesn’t sell at that price I’ll just have to keep shooting it I guess ;). This will be cross posted on a couple other forums I frequent.
Only interested in FTF in the Columbia Gorge area, from The Dalles west to Stevenson, including White Salmon, Hood River, Cascade Locks, etc.
    Edited to add Vancouver.

Finally got around to finishing the tabs on my ss80. Installed the rails to check slide fitment. Both my 48 (pictured) and 43x slide run flawlessly. A friend called the revision the 43L. Waiting on 43 magazine and mag release to show up. I bought 48 with the intentions of using it as a parts pistol, as 43 lower parts kits are usually out of stock everywhere. Anywhos enjoy. Ready to get some rounds down range.

First three round group out of the 6.8 western, gonna make some wind age adjustments and take it to 100 and then 200, possibly further once I get the .243 dialed in.

I don’t shoot the Remington 600 as well as I shoot the Xbolt, this was my first (lower left) and second (near the X) groups from the .243 at 50 yards.
    C3552897-0A58-47A1-AA93-61029A9337FD.jpg

And here are my first hundred yard groups with the 6.8, the upper wasn’t bad other than the elevation adjustment needed, the lower was a little bit better.
    89C2D197-9AC9-4C03-8ADD-A584EC42479F.jpg

and then my hundred yard group with the .243, I really need to start shooting more precision stuff and not just mag dumping carbines into silhouettes at 50 yards and less.
    89527871-9240-4DDB-AEA4-BDEE1F9B094A.jpg

I also checked zero on the bedside gun since I swapped red dots on it (replaced the 403C with the 503CU), no picture of the group but the BCG got dirty pretty quick.

And a beautiful sunset to end the day.
