New SCS Inventory subscription thread

I tried for brushed bronze but no -10 available.

 

After telling myself I won't upgrade my wheels/tires until the stocks are bald-ish, I just copped 4 SCS BR6s lol

 

Those all went fast.

 

I was trying to buy 8, ended up with 4…. Better than nothing I guess

I was initially trying to order 5, 17x8.5 Jet Black Ray10's which I missed out on. I was able to order 5, 17x9 Gunmetal Ray10's. If anyone is interested in a swap let me know!

Well I got skunked agin had 5 black ray 10s 17 8.5
In cart then it hiccup so I re added 5 all is good oh crap now 10 frantically trying to delete 5 nope had to sign off clear history log back on try agin all within 3 min SOLD wtf !? I should of bought all 10
Then I might have a set this is so frustrating.
I’ve waited for months err truck up on jacks with tires whe isn’t there more hub-centric wheels out there that look as good as ray10s lol
Oh well I really don’t want to go methods .

This is exactly what happened to me last time. Added 10 by mistake, backed out and came back in and all sold.

It’s all good this time. Got the set of 5 16x8 Ray10 Gunmetal that I was hoping for!

 

Missed black Ray10s 17x8.5 again...anybody want to trade with brand new stealth6s? Same size.

A week after I deciding to move on and buy another set of wheels, there is an inventory dump haha....such is life.

I went to drop off a pair of wheels and tires (for my trailer) at Discount Tire. They informed me that their corporate office has sent out a notice to all of the branches, that they are no longer allowed to mount tires on SCS wheels. They said they've had to deal with too many paint issues that result during the mounting process. Said the SCS paint is too soft and the bead edge is too sharp, so it just comes off no matter how careful they are.

Fortunately, I have a long history with the shop I went to, so they're doing it for me regardless. But you may want to start working with DT to get this resolved...

 

It's probably has a lot to do with the fact that they don't carry our line of wheels to be able to offer to their customers. They don't like to take on extra liability when customers bring in outside wheels or tires. Les Schwab is the same. They will not mount tires not purchased from their stores.

DT tire techs tend to use front-coning when it comes to balancing tires b/c it makes things quicker for them, but this does tend to lead to chip paint in the centerbore area. Our wheels such as the F5 or Gen5 do not have a center cap so it would be noticeable right away. Not many wheels, stock or aftermarket, are cap-less so with them using front-coning, any chips are generally "covered up" with a center cap so the customer never really has a clue. I would guess that 90% of DT customers are your average Joes with stock wheels and tires. The more careful method would be "back-coning" or using a "pin-plate", but this takes a little more time. Time is money to most shops, not just to DT. These 2 methods will prevent 99.5% of those chip paint issues.

Personally, I like to deal with shops that mount and dismount tons of aftermarket wheels on a daily basis. These shops tend to have the latest and greatest scratch free wheel and tire equipment with tire techs that actually know what they're doing. They might not be the cheapest, but are usually worth the extra cost for a headache free installation. I no longer go to DT after they turned me away bc I brought an outside set of 20" wheels and tire to get mounted. This was about 15yrs ago. If DT chooses to turn away customers with SCS wheels then it's their loss.
