Long story short, turned my truck on one morning and nothing. Dash lights, crank the key and nothing. No click click click, just one click. Turn back key and crank again, starts right up! I thought it was the battery (due to high heat recently and it was the OEM battery), so I got a new one. Worked fine for a few days, then happens randomly. This morning was fine, one crank start.
    Any ideas?

Figured so, but I'm glad I reached out and asked. Thank you very much!

The 2.7Liter 2TR-FE is much easier than the 6 cylinder. I did mine in less than an hour a few years ago. $35 dollars is much better then hundreds for a new starter or 100 for a rebuilt piece of crap.

Yes it definitely seems more accessible to remove. I'm looking into starter repair kits (plunger + contacts). Will any Denso repair kit work? I can't find any part numbers

    Go here: https://www.nationsstarteralternator.com/Denso-Solenoid-Repair-Kit-with-Plunger-2-contact-p/drk rebuild kit.htm

and enter your information. Year, Make, Model, Liter and Transmission type.

They will send you the correct parts for your truck. Contacts replacement kit and a new plunger.

Thank you very much! Unfortunately I'm in Canada, and the shipping is more expensive than the part itself ($50 USD for shipping, $35 part, USD to CAD conversion isn't great right now). I'll reach out to them and see if I can source from local distributors. Appreciate the help.

Dude that sucks hard! Sorry. I don't blame you I would also go local. Even a dealer. although I don't know if they carry those rebuild parts, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Regardless it would be cheaper than a starter replacement.
