I remember 1994, I was cheering for the Rangers as I was an Oilers fan and happy to see many of the Oilers reunited for one last cup in NYC. I will never forgot the look on Linden's face when the buzzer sounded and they lost, compared when Messier hoisted cup #6.
I don't see the Rangers having the depth to make a serious run this year, but Lundquist is a great goalie and any hockey fan knows a hot goalie at the right time can take you a long way (Roloson in Ed, Kipper in Calgary, Giguere in Ana, Hextall, Roy, etc). Injuries will creep up and I don't think the Rangers have the depth to deal with it like Van or Detroit. Blackhawks last year were deeper than the Pacific and it worked for them. Out of the west Detroit or Vancouver, east Pitts or Philly, maybe the Rangers if they can get a hot goalie when they need it.
It is truly impressive to see how Detroit has played the last two weeks with all the injuries they have had. Especially back to back on Fri-and Sat.

 

One thing you can be sure of, almost all the players on the Cup winning team will be Canadian

I admit it, OZ-T I was 18 and dwelling in the past, cheering for those old ghosts of hockey days gone by, much like BRUTALGUY Rangers fan here believing they have a chance this year, especially with FROLOV gone for the season. Depth is key and lets see how the Blueshirts respond.

I have since had an opportunity to see the light with the Canucks. When they signed Messier and then traded Linden later I think it was one of the darkest of days for the franchise. Looking forward to the eastern swing to see the 'Nucks against some of the best out there.

 

not just him FROLOV...................we have had many many injurys this season...hell we just got gaborick back, calahan is out 6 weeks, prospal out all season so far, drury out first 35 games..and the list goes on.............
but yet we prevail.............

 

Nice pick-up in Wolski today for the Blueshirts. He should fill the hole left by Frolov a little bit, he is capable of decent points if he has his mind in the game, which he hasn't this year. The injury list certainly hurts but giving those young players experience will certainly pay off when playoffs roll around. I am looking forward to the 'Nucks-Rangers this week, should be a good one.

 

I just watched Boston score 4 goals in the last 5 minutes of the game to shock the Penguins and win 4-2 .
