We'll see. I keep wondering if my clutch will start slipping sooner with the turbos. I don't really beat up on it though but we'll just have to wait and see.

did you see someone found a possible aftermarket clutch solution as the URD is gone for the time being?

Awesome, thanks!. Found it! Looks like its the "Reverse Idler Gear Shaft Bolt". --- Think there is any concern having removed it? Seemed to go back in no problemo, Im guessing it should be okay....(keyword, guessing o_O:fingerscrossed:)

    Nice! You're welcome!

You didn't hear anything go 'tink tonk' in the gear box?

It looks like it might be held in place with that oil pipe and probably the mesh of the gears.

There's only one way to find out. Put it in neutral and push the Taco forward or back. I believe that gear turns in neutral.

If it suddenly gets loose, you went too far

At that point just abandon ship and hope it’s fine lol

In other news (after having tried to delete my reverse idler gear in addition to the ADM) I decided to run over the heat shield! :anonymous:. Ive seen peeps leave this off, so not too flummoxed, but anyone out there ever feel the need to put it back on? [[[I should maybe stop being a total nub, but 42 years in,,,,,and well, here we are.]] :bananadance:.

But other than that clutch has been bled, feels great and nice to feel the improvement. Thanks for all the help and for all those out there always finding ways to make a great truck better :fistbump:

    Oh man!

Several folks have gone without the heat shield. No issues reported. I put mine back on.

That's great to hear! Enjoy the shifting fun.

Par for the course, at my house,,,,I always make it an adventure :) :) -- but still way more "fun" than having someone else do it or gasp, leaving things the way they are!

Yep, definitely don't have mine installed still. It's also definitely not because I'm too lazy to get back under there and do it either.... :anonymous:

I haven't put mine back on yet. Wanted to make sure there were no leaks. Took it with me camping last week, but decided that 107 degrees was too hot to crawl under the truck. I do plan on putting it back on though.
