BHLM visibility issues?

Just thinking about doing the BHLM, but was wondering if it caused your lights to not be as bright? Looks to me like the chrome surroundings of the light are there for a reason ( to reflect the light ) but I really like the looks of the black! And where can I find pics of Black Sand Pearl trucks with these lights to show my wife that they really do look cool? She don't like them, and I'm trying to convince her otherwise!! Thanks Guys and Gals!

 

In short: It does not affect light output.

you dont paint the bowl that reflects light you paint the surrounding areas that are chrome.

 

x2...your not spray painting anything that has to do with the light output or reflectiveness...look at pics

 

i for one think the output is reduced but maybe its just me

 

I've been thinking about spraying a light layer of VHT Nightshade on the reflector part. I know this will reduce the light output but will an HID kit be enough to compensate?

 

I wouldn't dude...plus that VHT might melt away or something and mess shit up

Haha I don't want to do the lens of the headlight as to avoid attention from the law but I still don't like all that chrome in the headlight. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Haha

Actually, looking at your's, I'll probably do 'em like yours but leave the reflectors in and just smoke them.

 

heres your solution, retro fit some miramoto minis then you can spray all the chrome you want

Been doing some searching and found a BHLM on a BSP truck. The truck has a chrome grill surround just like mine, and I don't know that I like how it looks with the black headlights. Don't know if I will get in trouble for posting a pic of someone elses truck or not but here it is. What do you think? Would it look better with maybe just the T-REX eyelids and not the BHLM? I don't know!!
