Retrofit and BHLM Headlights

I have nearly this exact build in the works! Can't wait. I have read that you need to remove the front bumper to install headlights. I have an aftermarket front bumper. Does that need to be removed or just the remains of the original bumper just below the headlight? Maybe just remove those and the grille?

 

So you should just be able to pop off the remants of your front bumper, along with the grill. There's one bolt you will need to access behind what's left of your fender flares (on the front bumper). Because what's left of your front bumper is only held on by a clip behind the fender flare, and a few clips, should be easy.

I was successful not pulling the bumper, just loosening it, and popping it off the clips behind the flares.

Confident I could remove and replace OEM headlights in 30 minutes now.

 

Got some low mileage oem headlights sitting here on the shelf if anyone is looking to do a build. Add $250 to any of the pricing on page 1 for me to supply these lights for you!

Performance is even better! I’ve spent some time getting them dialed in, I found I could aim them a little higher (cut off is so sharp I don’t get flashed) and they are bright enough to light more of the road up.

I have a 2014 BMW M235i with their best HIDs during that time period. Active so they move with the car during turns, etc. Car always had killer lights but I haven’t drove it in a month or two. Drove it last night after driving my retrofit for the past few weeks. Needless to say the headlights in the BMW now suck haha.

Keep in mind my Tacoma had HIDs initially, then Hikari LED bulbs, now these fancy retrofits. The retrofits are by far the best.

Got a few sets of oem headlights here ready to go, would love to add a couple retrofit builds to the list. Wait list is relatively short right now too!

But for real, just updated my wait list on pg.1. I have a hard time staying up on that Youre probably 3 weeks out with paint and everything, really looking forward to getting them done!

Just wanted to update this a little bit, as I've been driving on these for about a month (and still love them).

I have the Amber DRL's and Meso Stage 2 Amber Side Markers, I also have Meso side mirror turn signals. All these LED's are bright. Super bright.

The factory headlight turn signal bulb was now the weak point. It was completely adequate, but not lighting up buildings like everything else was.

I wanted a bulb with a built in resistor, I didn't want to tap anything, and I didn't want another driver box.

GTR Bulbs from Headlight Revolution has a solution. And Headlight Revolution doesn't have a great reputation, but these bulbs were shipped from TRS/TheRetrofitSource.

Ridiculously bright. Cleaner looking light. If they last, then definitely recommended.
