That article states that GameStop will be a small fish in a big pond. They only had a market cap of only $11.2b on May 7th which is the cutoff for joining the large cap Russell 1000.

GameStops market cap as of writing this should be around 16,275,000,000 (75m shares x $217).

Do they have to be covered before they can sell them?

Fails to deliver on an ETF = a naked short. Market makers make etf creation units, and may do so WITHOUT PURCHASING THE UNDERLYING. So a FTD on an ETF is just a blatant naked short.

I agree though, GME can be so volatile it takes on big upward push to get calls green again, from deep in the red.

That's why I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what will happen with the FTD ETFs tomorrow and next week.

Basically the last 15 minutes of trading on Friday will be chaotic and I expect Monday to be as well.

In which direction will GME go, I have no idea. But what I know is that with an adjusted beta of -5 from the last Bloomberg Terminal screenshot WITH the appropriate date range if the market tanks GME might go up. I know beta is a VERY weak indicator, but it's just what I have to go on so far.
