If you have it off, there is a TSB out there for a heat shield with some noise insulation on the inner side. It was said that it helps quiet the driveline clunk. If you happen to have some insulation laying around, it might be a good idea.

About the best that I could ever do is get mine in the garage to help with bleeding. Mostly, not the red kind.

Anyone in the SLC area have this done to their MT? I'm interested but would love to try it first. I will buy the individual a six pack of any beverage, or a meal.

If your Taco doesn't feel like other MTs that you have driven, esp rev matching downshifts, then just imagine that it drives like you would expect it to. That was a general difference for me.

I second tonered and so many previous posters.

I had planned to do this before I even had the truck, but kids, school and 11k miles later, finally did it in half a day. (Most normal people will be done in a couple of hours tops.) But after a day driving.... chefs kiss :woot:. Its a both subtle and completely game changing mod. Immediately it felt like, umm, well maybe I wasn't just a shit manual transmission driver. And like tonered said, I hadn't driven a stick since 1999-2001 in a blue honda accord, and while its no miracle mod, it does feel way closer to what I now remember, and the result is having the more linear control to shift smooth and sharp, way way less need to feather the fk out of the clutch especially 1st/2nd gear. And added bonus, I ran over the heat shield and thereby cured that rando clank you would hear. So my own personal experience, 100% happy I did it. And would never want to drive it as was before. So, if you can't find one to try out,,,,Id say just jump off this bridge all these other peeps have jumped from, water feels good!!

Just do it, like many have said, no need to feather 1st anymore. That and it grabs/shifts exactly where you expect it to, no more guessing games.

You do know it's that missing bolt that's letting air into your hydraulics right, causing bleeding issues

    Stock for now.. maybe
Which route did you go? I've been eyeballing this. Probably just delete the thing and add new line instead of Drexel.

GF has been driving stick shifts her whole life but has so much trouble with this truck. She mainly just has to move it around the driveway to get the other toys out. I'm out of town alot so can't help. Figured this mod would make both of us more happy
