Realized i am missing the rear bump stop on my passenger side LCA. Only drove it for a few days like this. How much damage could this have done?

The bump stop is there for when you're close to bottoming out your suspension. It gives a rubber cushion rather than metal on metal contact. Unless you're out there jumping your truck, doing some serious wheeling or hitting insane pot holes, you did no damage because in every day driving, you're not using the full range of the suspension . You would know if you bottomed out your suspension.

None, unless you were towing, hauling, wheeling, heavy/hard enough for the stops to get in the game.

I was on a trail in Moab last year and lost a bump stop. I can tell you first hand, smacking the LCA without a bump stop when coming down off a ledge is not a fun feeling. You would definitely know if you did it.

As long as you're just cruising around town I don't see the harm. Don't hoon it over speed bumps

I took it up to joshua tree but wasn’t by any means wheeling. Took it slow on the dirt roads to get to the place i was staying. Unfortunately LA has very bumpy roads but i can’t recall an unusual or unpleasant feeling when driving without it this time.

yeah when I lost mine on the trail, I got by without it by taking everything slowly and for the most part I was fine. But a couple ledges were just too big to avoid feeling it even by crawling down them. I would imagine on a fire road or easy trail you'd be OK, as long as you're not hitting big ruts and whoops at speed.

How did you lose it? Did it back out of the LCA or did it break off? The weld nut that it holds it in place inside the LCA snaps off easily, that's how mine first broke off. Once that happens you can't thread another one back in. Mine is currently JB welded onto the arm haha. Works fine as long as nothing knocks it from the side.

    4 run, 2 don't
Even got video proof of it too

*wait until the end when Todd runs up to grab that bumpstop*

Pretty sure I had to grab it at one point a second time while on the trail :burp:

yeah after the second time is when I decided to just finish without it, zip ties are no match for the forces a bump stop sees on the trail.

I hadn't turned those on in probably 2 years, I doubt they even worked still lol. Part of the reason they're gone now
