Has anyone figured out the trick of keeping the car wash blowers from ripping the drip guard trim off their truck? I've got a 2018 SR5 and I'm on my 2nd pair or trim mouldings. The car wash blowers blow them off. Its getting old and I figure there must be some special glue or trick to prevent this from happening.

I havn't had this happen but 3M doublesided should do the trick.

Some tape or probably silicone may do. I was actually behind a taco the other day and they pulled out and whatever that trim is (I assume the same) was flopping around nearly all the way off. Sucks its a real issue.

Welcome to TW…I’m not trying to be a smart ass but, wash your truck manually and forget the blow dry. I wash my truck then, dry it with a chamois, takes about 10 minutes and no water spots.

First response is the best response. After it has come up once you need to do something to stick it down. This is a common topic in the roof rack mounting discussions.

Also, I wish I could wash my truck in 10 minutes. Just getting the hose/pressure washer, soap bucket and everything else out of the garage takes me 10 minutes.

To what "drip guard trim" do you refer?

It takes 10 minutes to dry, 20 minutes to wash and dry at a car wash and about 30-45 minutes if I wash it at home.

I once had the cover trim for the factory roof rack tracks come off from a car wash blower. Hasn't since and I go through the auto wash at least once every three weeks (temp dependent) in the winter to help ward off the belly rust. Never had my window drip guards even remotely wiggle--though they are 3M'ed in-channel attached.

Thanks for the clarification. I was starting to doubt my life choices. I mean if someone out there has a 10 minute wash routine for their truck I need the secret. Unless that secret is meth.

Wash in 10 minutes, no way. Wax in 10-12 absolutely.

I do enjoy washing by hand when I have the time. The car was that I do go to intermittently, the soap smells like bubble gum. I'm not impressed but only touchless car wash around.
