Picked up a couple more of these, how often do y’all think they need to be topped off? Hate to have it be flat if I ever actually needed it.

They will last well over a month on a charge... even using them a time or two.

What if I never use it. How often do I need to put it on the charger?

@Bannerman use FB, write up a decent OCD ad, take nice pics, boost it for the most expensive rate possible ($5 a day or so). It will sell real fast

I set a reminder to check on mine every 6 mos, unless I use it, then I charge it up.

I almost tagged you but figured you'd show up in your own time.

The one I bought last year that I keep in the truck seems to hold a charger very well, but I have yet to use it. I just picked these up on Prime Day for Hollys car and the boat, which is what I am most worried about. Don't want a dead battery on the water, especially with the kid now.

Get a good battery, ditch all the vampire electrical doodads and you won't need that:stirthepot:

I want to build one of those t4rs like yours but don't want to pay the current inflated prices for them!!:D

I've got an AGM in the Taco and the boat and wife's T4R both have brand new batteries, but for $60 this is worth the added peace of mind.

I have one too, both in my car and GF's car. Even if it's there just to help out a stranger, easier than pulling the jumper cables out. Much easier than waiting on AAA or equivilent too.

I ran over a bottle of nail polish in Dilworth last year on the 4th of July in my BMW and blew out a tire. I had to wait almost 3 hours for a tow truck. Same thing applies here I guess, dead battery in the middle of the night or randomly at a rest stop somewhere - you will pay $60 4x over again just to not have to wait on someone else.

    Read my mind LOL!!

not being argumentative, just bored at work: why even get one of these that you now have to maintain the emergency charger when you can just maintain the battery and replace it when it gets close to crapping out? I don't even think you can run an unattended modern stock vehicles battery down if you tried.

I can see the need if you are in the middle of nowhere or for convenience. With your attitude I bet you don’t carry around jumper cables.

Your talking to the dude who has his trail welding supplies always in the tool box of his truck!!:D

I keep my junk maintained and pay attention to my vehicles, they will give you signs stuff is going wrong. Aside from a battery just blowing up, it will give you plenty of signs it's on the way out, lifecycle aside. If your battery just dies at a rest stop or a gas station that's really on you for not following the maintenance and replacement schedule.

Most modern sports cars don’t come with spares, usually they will come with horrible riding run flat tires (that everyone replaces).

In my case, once the tire blew out it was too low to get the factory bottle jack under it (even if I had a spare).

I’ve never personally needed a jump, but I’ve probably jumped 10 cars in the last few years. I’d rather use a jump box than cables.
