Now everyday can be a Friday

 

I’m honestly over it, I’ve worked shifts like this for years now. The last two years has been brutal with approximately 5 different shift changes (covid shifts. Back to normal shifts, covid shifts repeat…).

I’m at the point where I’m trying to find a “normal” job in my line of work but that’s even difficult.

My last job was 3 12s with pay for 40. The hard part was the 1 hour drive one way.

I actually enjoy shift work. 4-10’s is the best. 3 days off! Except when your Friday is Monday and you’re off during the week lol

 

damn. I wish we could do that, but we can’t even get our titles changed. Talks like a duck. Walks like a duck. Quacks like a duck… but we’re just raccoons.

I feel that pain. When I first started I worked 4-8’s M, Tue, Thus, Fri.
Don’t remember what came after, there were two more shifts. Then came covid. First round I did 12’s Sun, Mon, Tues with every other wed.
Summer hit and we went back to part time hours… (couldn’t tell you what). Second wave hit and that change came in October and was 12’s Sat,Sun,Mon and every other Tuesday. Went to full time officially in January, and the covid shifts ended 2 months ago. Now I work Mon-Thurs 11 hours with an unpaid lunch but am not permitted to log off. Since that we’ve only actually had maybe 5 days of a full hour break for lunch.

But enough of the rants.

 

my shifts where 1500-2300, 1340-2140, normally a noon - 2000, 0700-1500 and then back the same day 2300-0700. At one time we rotated days off back a day every 8 weeks, hated that.

 

SoCal cigar bar is having a Rocky Patel tasting event with Mr. Patel as the emcee. Oh, and 6 samples of tequila....which means 12 because the waitress likes my smile.

 

Right now I’m 1400-0001, rotate days off every 12 weeks. We used to rotate every six weeks, that sucked.

 

Long fucking week, this is making me feel better.

 

Played a little golf today, sitting bacK and having a nice cigar before meeting friends for dinner.
