What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I like the plates because it makes me happy it's visually centered regardless of rubbing.

I got the front bolts out of both sides, stuck in the tie rod ends, gonna have to go get a press.


If I can move the uca like this does it mean I should have ordered bushings for them too?

 

Yeahh...the arm shouldn't slide around like that.

Auto zone can get energy suspension and white line too.

 

Shouldn't that gab get filled when you crank down UCA bolt?

 

I feel like yes, but gonna replace the bushing anyway

 

That pic you attached are SPC bushings for SPC arms

OE bushings are part number 48632-35080. Technically a 4Runner part and technically not compatible with a Tacoma... but they fit. $30-35 each and you'll need four, so I won't be offended if you want to find poly bits for less money .

 

Hi everyone, new member and newly made Tacoma owner. I come from modding Honda's. Picked up a 1998 Xtracab 2.4L 5spd. Owned for about 2 weeks now and I've done so much already.

So far, I've done black housing headlights, clear corners and signals, 50/50 tail lights, full LED bulb swap, double din touch screen radio with newly installed backup camera, 01-04 Tacoma side mirrors, double Hella horns, tailgate poplock, Broadway mirror, and Husky floor liners.

Things I purchased but haven't installed include steering wheel hub, quick release, momo Monte Carlo 350mm, ditch light mounts and led pods, 4runner GBLL, autometer tachometer, weather tech door visors, weather tech bug/rock shield, and an alarm.

 

I ordered some poly from autozone, the dude said they don’t work though, bolt won’t go through the sleeve.

I'm probablly not the expert to ask about solar. I chose the rover awhile ago when I had my fiberglass topper and a solar panel. I have a separate battery in the bed to run interior lights, exterior lights, and eventually a fridge for camping.
I chose the rover because it is an MPPT charge controller and through research people tended to lean towards those over PWM controllers. In hindsight im sure for my application both would have been fine though.

 

Don't know how much faith I'd put in the AutoZone guy's word on that.

Well, IDK then. Seems odd to me that a company would make bushings for the UCAs but the bolt won't fit through them. My SPC's bushings work with the stock bolt.
