By my count, my truck has a lot of life left in it. In fact, it hasn't even started to run yet, so they can stick that 'market adjustment' scheme and shove it where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned.

    1) I tried to buy a new Digital piano. This was a special, more rare model, that is normally in stock. Every piano store is out-of-stock on this, and it's on back order. They are hoping they can get this model in August or September

    2) Tried to buy Nitro gears for my GX460 in April-- Out of stock, on back order until August,
    3) Tried to get Yukon gears for my GX460 in Early May -- Out of stock, on back order hopefully until July.
    4) Tried to get an Eaton rear locker -- Out of stock/ on back order "please by patient"

    5) Got Dobinsons IMS lift kit. Ordered first week of January, and got the kit in late March.

    6) Tried to buy rock sliders. 3 month delay.

    7) Bought fender flares from Alibaba in March. Still haven't received it.

It just goes on and on.

Seems to be shortages in everything except food.

Funny thing is, a lot of retailers have said they won't be open this coming thanksgiving day. The line (lie) given is to give the employees time with the family. What a crock of line. More than likely they probably know they won't have the merchandise, but why all the lies. I'll keep my rock warm and powder dry lol!

I've been hearing about the car shortages and then I drive by dealership row and the lots (at least the ones in front) seems just fine. Maybe it's a regional thing?

    Hoarders.

One of the BBQ places in Dallas posted no beef ribs this coming weekend. Cited supplier problems. WTF? No beef ribs… in Texas?!?!

Same here in WI. However got the call today that my 2021 came in today. Pre-purchased last week while truck was in route. Kudos to Kolosso Toyota in Appleton, WI for delivering on time and at a great price! Sold my 2019 on Vroom and purchased new 2021 from Kolosso for a net difference of $1500 (minus tax). It was a no-brainer to get the Apple car play and power seat with the bonus of a new truck and moving up 2 years and 18,000 miles.

Zero new Tacoma’s within 100 miles where I am (central VA). Used 4runners with high miles are selling for 45k. I bought a new 2021 4Runner in January for like 38k (sr5 premium)

Lol you have no clue. Every OEM has multiple vendors for every part. Nobody screaming or running. That is 100 level supply chain.
The problem is demand has outstripped supply because of CoVid and other factors.

Geez it is from your local paper to internet news and every website in between. No manufacturer has inventory. It started with toilet paper and is now at iron ore.

Well that was always my understanding, with stiff penalties for undersupply; like if you caused an idle at a GM plant because of lack of supply, it was like $10k/hr of hold up or something. I'm trying to figure out how the Toyota lots are near enough to empty, to be ready for the traveling carnival. Honda lots are about 40% stocked. Subaru maybe 30%? Chevy/GM perhaps 50 or 60%? How's it so different if everybody is diversified?

It all depends on supply chain and length and inventory.

@Itchyfeet better topic anyway. Bought wife our first Mini. 18 Cooper S model. How do you like the jcw add-ons? Drove a full spec 19 jcw stick but couldnt get over how numb Clutch was for me on takeoff, so I opted for Auto. Curious if the extra pep was worth the few grand

The most frustrating part of all this to me is that my friends in Europe are telling me that their dealerships are offering heavy discounts because they can't move inventory, especially low mileage used cars are in a surplus right now.

You think Tacomas are in short supply, try buying a decent mountain bike, or anything mountain bike related.

So, I was at this years version of the San Diego County Fair Wednesday. The kid working there told me that the 2022's would not be out at the usual time because they had so many 2021's sitting around unsold. So I ask him where they were hiding them. He became offended. Ahh the young, catch them in a lie and they act like they didn't get a trophy.

Lol. A few months ago I decided to buy a Rail 5. Found a retailer 45 minutes away with 3 remaining, put a hold on one. By the time I got there the other two were sold! Crazy times for sure. Hope we get to normal soon.

What I found in my 3 month search for a new Tacoma is that most dealers I visited listed 10-12 new trucks on their webpage, but when you go there to look , they weren’t there. Turns out they are either all sold, pending sale or just haven’t been marked as sold. The trick worked, it got me to the showroom.. Its been like that for mos.

That’s impressive. Although I’m sure most manufacturers in any industry broke sales records. Pretty crazy market overall.
