Opinions Please: Best Tire for 2011 Tacoma TRD?

Most of my driving is highway and Sand (not too much mud, rock, or mountain). Looking for a quiet tire on the highway, excellent rain/snow and good sand performance.

It came with the BFG Rugged Trails P265-70-16 but I am not confident with their wet/snow performance. I reviewd a lot of posts here and received feedback.

I am considering:
Good Year Silent Armors (The Dura Tracks do not come in my size )
BFG AT KO
Bridgstone Revo

I have and vote for the bridgestone revo 2! Great tire for our trucks!

 

I just put a set of Yokohama Geolander ATS's on mine. Pretty aggressive AT tread but still very well mannered on the streets.

 

Quiet solid truck tire that was great in sand, on my last Tacoma: Toyo Open Country AT & Cooper Discoverer ATR.

Look into Hankook DynoPro AT, very popular here... and I am considering them if I can't get the General Grabbers.

 

I love the Hankooks and the price was very affordable.

 

Time to upsize to 265/75/16! Lots of people run that size.

Absolutely love 'em on my 03... great in the snow- good on the road- not too loud- all four mounted and balanced for $580.00. well worth it.

I love my BFG A/Ts

 

BFG ATs.

 

The 75 series will fit without lift.

 

Michelin LTX/ms2 smooth on freeway/handle wet and snow excelent/ drive on dry lose sand beach with no issue. trail test all the above this week already.

NO... it is 1" taller, and fits with no rub. I do not like BFG AT/TA personally but I have friends (and my wife) who all do like them. I just have seen way too many sidewall failures with them. I have had many tires the past 1/4 million miles on 3 Tacomas... and the only tire failures have been on BFGs (Rugged Trails) and a Pep Boys Dakota once (I put a sharp rock right through the tire driving fast to Gonzaga Bay).

 

Toyo MT or BFG KM2 - if you're looking for an aggressive mud terrain

BFG AT or Nitto Terra Grappler - if you're looking for a good all terrain

 

I'm not too impressed with my BFG A/T. I have owned them for a year now and they have gotten two rock punctures and I don't even mud or rock crawl. It's just a highway truck. I will be replacing my BFGs with a Goodyear product. Either Duratracs or Wrangler Authority.

Most tires that size will fit fine. The Duratracs run a little beefier and may rub the front mud flaps at times, mine did so I just removed them.

 

I've got the duratrac's 265/75/16 no lift and they perform great.. More happy with them then my BFG's and I've ran both the AT's and MT's

 

I went up to 75's in the DuraTrac's and there was minor rubbing on the mudflap and wheel well but with some minor trimming there's wasn't much issue, unless you are offroad so there was a little rubbing on the frame, got a 2" Lift from Readylift and the problem is all gone! and the truck looks soo much better and with the Readylift the Ride is the same as Stock.

 

Loving my Dueler Revos. 70k still lil less than 1/2 tread. Great in the rain! Lots of mudding and beach driving.. Never been stuck.. Really impressed!
