Supposedly free too. But only works with certain CPUs? I say we all just dump Windows and go Linux.

There's a 100% chance that will never happen, maybe for IT admins. But no one wants to put up with an OS that cannot even adopt a GUI fully. The closest Linux will ever get to a majority market share is Android

    Starter plunger and contacts ordered.

Thinking I should buy another plunger and contacts in case I've got a 1.4kw starter, but doubt it since the 4R is a limited V6 and even has a rear heater.

That'll be fun to do :burp:

Starter size is determined by the presence of the Cold Weather Package. Rear heater is standard on a 4Runner

Aware of the cold weather package; unfortunately I don't have the window sticker for the 4R even though I've got everything else (including the old salesman's business card).

And using Partsouq and other sites using my vin doesn't yield what starter I've got.

I tried looking at the label on the side but it's long gone.

Does it have the insulated washer bottle or the water channeling window trim, those are good giveaways. Though they don't help if the starter has been replaced before by someone who didn't care.

Not aware of any insulated washer bottle or window trim; interesting.

I just looked at what I ordered last night and noticed it comes with contacts for both starters.

Do you know if the plungers are the same for both models though?

Now you got me wanting to check for what you posted.

Plunger should be the same, the bendix has the same travel amount to engage the flywheel/flexplate

    Thank you for that.

I want to pull out the starter, replace said items, and toss it back in.

I left my replacement starter at the storage in Fresno as part of moving all my shit over

Told myself I'd replace my thermostat and coolant, only to remember I left my new thermostat in Fresno as well

    4R needs some love.

Always good to do the contacts before they wear out, my 3RZ one used to stick on sometimes and you'd have to cycle the key to start a few times to get it loose.

Oh RATS.. This is the truth for Honda owners. You need to keep a working cat on duty, use a rodent repellent spray or rewrap the wiring harness with silicone tape.

Psst @Sperrunner @Kwikvette Do you know how long the M18 XC 5.0 batteries last? For example while breaking bolts free….my 1/2 impact kit is on the way, just wonderin if/how bad I might want a second battery.

Buy a second battery just because.

But if it's any consolation, I haven't recharged my M18 5.0 battery since last year.

I have since, pulled my tires off at least 2 times, spare 4 times now, and a few rear suspension parts.

I checked my battery while camping since I have the Milwaukee inverter and it was still almost full.

    In fact, I'll check now....

Thanks man I appreciate it. I'll definitely get one eventually, thought I'd keep my eye out for some 4th of July sales as well, but I'm so deep into the piggybank right now for this phase, I figured if I can do what I need to without having to recharge, I'll wait on it.

Should be fine spooling it back up if all the soap is out. They're gonna get nasty no matter what, pretty much can't really hurt them besides abrasion.
