In 49 semi- normal states sure. Here in jackass CA, we have special Cats. They cost double. All y’all in other states are dying from pollution because your lawmakers don’t care about you. <sarcasm>

Or sucking in radioactive air because we don't have cats that are up to California standards.

Twice the population of Texas and more densely concentrated. If the standards weren’t so high we’d be fucked. It sucks but who knows, maybe the current exodus will mean Texans will learn what real smog looks like and why those more stringent rules were enacted.

Based on the news reports.....seems like half the CA population is either illegal migrants or thieves.........

I was watching the news the other day, and in some cities nearby they're offering free services to etch license plate numbers onto the catalytic converters to help deter thieves.

However, I've heard the problem with this is that the thieves are dismantling the catalytic converters to get to the precious metals inside. So they can just take off/discard the outside (engraved) casing.

Yeah - I was just :boink:. I'm all for doing things that actually reduce pollution in meaningful ways. It's sometimes difficult to know what actually works and what isn't working. Especially with the drought out there in CA, y'all need all the help you can get.

    Agree with Knute.
Hot as hell in Central Valley CA lately, but dry. A particularly hot humid summer I spent in Houston with my brother will never be forgotten. Damn was that miserable. I went outside just long enough to drive back.

As a Houston resident, I can concur. Here's what humidity has looked like on my windows every morning this week:

It does feel that way. And it isn’t a kneejerk “racist” position, just observation. Thievery, as stated, has essentially been legalized by soft bureaucrats. Defending your person/property is not allowed unless “severely threatened”. So hell yeah, let’s go steal stuff!

Having grown up here since the 60’s I can vouch for the effectiveness of the policies even though I’m not thrilled with the cost, something had to be done, and as the population kept increasing so did the abatement measures. I would hope that other states look to California not simply with disdain but with an eye to the future. Growth is inevitable so if you can learn something and do it better, great.

Court ordered prison releases because voters refuse to fund new prison construction and nobody wants one in their community.

Wonder if it would be worthwile to bolt up an expanded stainless steel screen on the outside of that plate. Use rubber spacers to put it1/4" away from the surface of the aluminum plate. It will vibrate and catch the sawsall blade.

I like hydraulics. As soon as the grinder/Sawzall starts cutting it drops the vehicle on them.
