I really like this color,i would love to find a 2nd gen. double-cab w/trd-off road pkg. in a auto. or m/t within close range of me & price range.
I might even do some trading for my '21 army green taco.

 

Wheels/tires, and suspension are next. The RTT finally showed up..

 

First time posting but used the forums a lot for research so I figured I should return the favour! Elka 2.0 and Icon Add-a-leaf with Method MR703 16x8 wheels and Toyo Open Country AT3 10ply's in a 265/75r16. Nothing too crazy but wanted a good riding truck for all the mtb shuttling and forestry road driving, super happy so far!

My pryite mica with 3 inch lift. With pelfrey front and rear bumpers also pelfreybilt full skid plates. Running 37s also got dana 60 rear axle

 

After a few weeks of leaving 3rd gen. team Army Green, i can say now i have joined 2nd gen. team Pyrite Mica. I really didn't think i would find one but after a trip to southern Kentucky she now resides in Alabama.
Let's begin the mods!

Last trip in the high Cascades of Southern Oregon. Some of the best country there is.

 

Sold my modded 2016 Blazing Blue Sport access cab (for what I paid new 5.5 years ago) and bought a stock 2012 Pyrite Mica Prerunner SR5 access cab (for less than half of 2016 selling price). Waiting for title to arrive before I get it from the seller. Very stoked to be back in a 4.0 2nd gen and more stoked to start the whole mod process again. Pictures will be coming. Already reserved new plates. This is old plate. New one is same plate with 12 SR5 instead of 16 TRD

 

By chance is anyone running a set of bronze fuel wheels? Gonna order some soon but still slightly undecided, scs wheels are my #1 choice

 

Which 23Zero tent is that?

 

Maybe you posted this elsewhere, but that's a big switch from a brand new truck to go back a model year - what made you do it?

I am doing the same. Sold my 2016 with 25k miles to get back into a 2nd gen. The detuned 3.5 and automatic have made the 3rd gen an underwhelming truck. They get awesome gas mileage but feel underpowered. I had a good exhaust and a CAI that at least provided better throttle response but no real power gain. Before I added those my truck would stumble when I stomped on the gas. Never had that oh sh#* feeling in my previous 3 Tacoma trucks. The only ones extremely happy are the ones spending a bunch of money to get a 3rd gen tune. I bought mine new Jan 2016 and within 6 months I wished I would have kept my 2008 Prerunner with the 4.0 automatic and 60k miles. I can say the 3rd gen held their value. Sold mine after 5.5 years for exactly what I paid new. If you research the 3rd gen you will see a lot of frustration with the automatic transmission. Have also seen a few with leaking rear main seals and, most recently, leaking timing covers. Both are expensive fixes. I always felt confident my 1st or 2nd gen would easily make 200k miles. I never felt that confidence in my 3rd gen. There is a reason that Toyota continues to use the 4.0 in the 4runner. It's bulletproof. The 3.5, as stock tuned in the Tacoma, has not yet proven to be bulletproof. That is why there are so many on the market for sale. It also says a lot that 2nd gens with similar 3rd gen miles sell for as much or more money. Trust me. I loved my 3rd gen. I just was concerned about longevity.

 

Interesting to note! Sadly I just convinced my dad to get a 2021 TRD off-road haha, but maybe he should be selling it asap
