There must be some where to get a sensored passenger door handle. Tired of feeling like a heathen pulling out the key fob to unlock the passenger side front door.

    welcome aboard Jim!

I just have a lowly, low tech key. must be inserted manually.

I reckon that makes me down right barbarian.

Nothing you can do. No aftermarket support for this because not enough people care about it.

My 2021 has a sensored handle.... I would imagine if you just purchased a replacement handle for a 2021 in your color code you could hook it all up.

I installed one, and the Lexus credit card key too. No need to carry a Fob. More on it here.

This is the way. I did this install. The hardest part is fishing the wires through the door boot, but honestly it's not hard.

Not true... @Victory solved it for us.

You will have to buy the sensor handle (literally the driver's handle flipped over) and run wiring to the driver's side cubby area. Very easy install.

Yep, installed quite a while ago. I don't exactly remember, but I'd estimate 1.5 to 2 hours if you're taking your time.

Keep in mind, I was already familiar with removing door panels and the cubby panel, so that sped up my install time. Really the hardest part was fishing that damn wire through the door boot. But I used a chopstick like a sewing needle and it worked great.

Yeah that door boot is a pain. I should dig back in there and make sure my meso puddle pod is doin okay. It might have been slightly tight when I first installed it.

The lexus card was not so bad. I bought a used one, so I had to re-learn all three fobs. Re-learning the fobs takes "tokens" for a techstream password. See here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...orking-in-tacoma.445979/page-22#post-19816487

When you register a new (never used) fob to an existing truck it doesnt take any passcodes.

So as long as you get the right one (fcc id or whatever), all you have to do is teach the fob to the truck? I did that for a new fob on techstream and it was stupid easy.

@Skydvrr - I’m currently in the process (this project sat on hold for over a year). I’m looking at all the aspects as I go over them. Plan is for PnP and I offered @DSIM first crack at offering whatever comes out of the project. I’m optimistic as things are coming together.

PnP for the door handle? Maybe this laziness of mine will finally pay off.

Did you do a bunch of research on your ECU / fob or just roll the dice? Haha
