Nothing went wrong per se. Just a different level of damage than we were anticipating.

It's more than just replacing some baseboard and shoring up a few beams. We've got parts that are totally rotten through and will need replacement. It would be nice if we could just get a contractor out to do it all but no one ever returns phone calls and when they do it's always months out.

On a positive note, we'll probably know just about every nook and cranny of this shit hole once we're done with it.

 

On another positive note; you know the work done will be up to your own standards. Ugh, that's a double edged sword too though. At least when I sub something out, if I see flaws I can shrug it off n live with it. Like the drywall mud/tape job in our bathroom. Good enough and much better than before.
